yea, i posted that article. i would expect it is because of the potential that a minor may have been taken across state lines and a crime was committed. but yes, the more involved the more concerning it has to be for the accused.

The crazy part is, there isn't even an "accused" here. No one has been charged with anything, no one has been indicted, no one has been arrested. All we have are allegations by two people who possibly are not the most believable folks out there. I am not minimizing the seriousness of what they allege. I am just saying that this has the potential to be a bad three=ring circus for Bernie

As the days go by, reading things on this board from Bees, IB and cusetown the more it sounds like to me that BF is guilty. There seems to be evidence or testimony that is pushing this. I really hope i'm wrong but we all need to brace ourselves. I know i am expecting the worst.
I think the program will be ok, kids have short memories, they will come back esp to Hop. As long as we have the dome and the melo center, we will be good.

The DA's rushing incomplete evidence to a GJ is very troubling and makes me think that prosecution by his office isn't the goal. It could be to put forward information as fact finding "get to the truth" or to create a record for other jurisdictions.

Thats my biggest fear the impact on the program. I know its selfish but bernie didnt build this brand , jb did.

What concerns me is the relationship between the PD and the D.A. Nothing with Bernie. I firmly believe he is 100% innocent.

I'm starting to get the same feeling, unfortunately. Something isn't right.

At worst, Bernie did something to these guys. I still don't know what could be done about that at this point, unfortunately, because of the SOL. I don't even know what action can be taken by the DA, unless there are charges in other states with less restrictive SOL. In that case, my first concern isn't for the SU Basketball program.

At a minimum, based on these most recent developments, it seems that there are issues with what was actually investigated in 2002-2005. I've said it a few times in the past few days, but I still think, based on the information made public in the past week, that the SPD should have opened an investigation in 2002-2003. Even if the SOL had lapsed on the molestation case against Davis, he alleged that it continued until 2000, so there was at a minimum a possible sexual assault case. At worst, there was ongoing abuse of others under 18. Should have been looked into, if for no other reason than a CYA for the SPD, and it now gives the appearance of a possible cover up.

These latest developments are not good for any of the interested parties, in perception or reality. It's a Class A Cluster****.

I don't really think the pissing match between the SPD and the DA reveals anything about this case. These two have had problems for years, and they have come to light in other high profile cases as well.
