Summer 2019 S&C

Armstrong got a few more muscles. Didn’t seem that big or lean last year. Good for him.

No question about it. Holding a yoga pose sequence where the lower body does not move (like going from warrior 2 to reverse warrior to side angle and repeating that sequence with 5 breathes in each pose ) is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do, especially in a room heated to 95-100 degrees...your quads are screaming; your calves are screaming; your stabilizer muscles are screaming..

It is also form...if he were to bring his elbows in tight to his body, rather than having them flayed it would actually make the position easier on his abs and lower back as the locking the elbows in reduces the strain on the abs (and when the abs go, it is the lower back that picks up the slack)...

I've been doing it for a decade and I still cannot hold balance poses and sequences for any length of time. My stabilizer muscles simply aren't strong enough...not sure they ever will be...

When I do a 75 minute hot yoga vinyasa class with one of my tougher teachers, I am just as exhausted when I finish as I am when I do a four mile interval session in 95 degree heat with 70% humidity in the middle of August...

My only interval training is a six pack with negative splits

I used to be able to get close to that. When I was young and still working in the factory I was talking to some guys while standing next to a stack of large plastic dividers that were used to hold steel parts after we machined them. It was close to 5 feet high and said I think I could jump on it if I wasn't in heavy work boots on a somewhat oily floor. One coworker egged me on, so I finally gave in and tried it. I came an inch or two short getting my toes on it but not enough of the foot to stand up. I tried something similar about 10 years later at the gym on some stacked boxes about a foot shorter. I greatly underestimated how much athleticism I had lost and cracked my shins pretty good. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

How very CurtB

Man Trotter looks jacked. Our LB’s have the size no doubt. As long as they can pick up the technical side I don’t think they will be a big downgrade from before

Having heard much from him, could be a monster on special teams to start.

Ruffs power is in his hips and legs. It’s why he is so explosive in beginning of sprint. His chest and tricep strength are good but not elite. Using that bar for lineman is unquestionably one of the best. In hs I would have the boys use close grip dumbbell in low incline to mimick hand placement. Their form is a little loose and I wonder why they allow it as the old strength coach let same stuff slide so their has to be a reason. That bar has 5 or 6 different grips. Nice job boys.

Just figured I'd share this screenshot of a story that Adam's put on his IG of Tommy's locker(the 2 pics he has tapped on it) I love the culture being created in the Babers era and the drive these kids have to want to succeed. These boys are gunning for that top step! It all starts with believing you can do it! Cant wait for this season!!!
