Whos our next head coach

How quickly people forget what happened last time we hired our DC...
I do think we should try to keep White on as DC but hard pass on HC

I am comfortable enough to say I have no idea who we should hire or what type of coach he should be.
One thing is sticking in my head though ... and that might be to find a retread type of coach, a lifer type that can really teach and know how to run a program. This guy won't be young and he won't be a hot name. Someone almost like a Frank Solich type.
Wish Jim Tressel was 5 years younger.

I'd consider Steve Addazio for the HC job. I think we can do ALOT worse than him. He would be our first P&D DNA hire so who knows, maybe he strikes gold back at the old freeze option homestead.

We've run so far and fast from the Pasqualoni/Deleone model that i'm totally ready for it to come back with one of the prodigees. Addazio, Chris Rippon, Kevin Rodgers! Let's get the band back together again. I bet (thinking hard) they can finish 50th in recruiting too

EDIT: We can also play DAZQUEST!!!

Didn’t do enough? He had one losing record in 7 years. No he’s not flashy but 5 7-6 years and 1 6-6 is something we can only dream of here
I am a fan of Addazio but if he isn't good enough for BC, how can you justify taking him? Especially the way CSU is going. Also BC typically has weak OOC schedules which is good for an extra W each year. If he had our schedules those 6-6s turn to 5-7s.

2019 BC was 66th in Sagarin. We were 65th so that tells you how bad they were despite making a Bowl.
2018 they were 38th which is good.
2017 36th good
2016 62nd no good even though they made a Bowl
2015 86th really bad
2014 44th which is good
2013 64th which is poor despite making a Bowl

He had 3 good seasons, 1 really bad season, and 3 poor seasons. Add in the fact that he is 1-5 at Colorado State and it is very hard to justify hiring him.

can't go off of that, White isn't Shafer, doesn't mean he will be a slam dunk, but two different people. Shafer was pretty unhinged, White seems like a pretty cool customer.
With ZERO HC experience, hard pass

I'd be fine with being dirty. Being clean and proper isn't much fun while everyone's partying down south.
Ok so maybe just better at hiding it? ;)

I can honestly say that I would likely gravitate fully away from Syracuse football if that was the hire. Would be a combination of sad and mad for a bit then just be done.

Everyone would poop their pants for him but think he's aiming a lot higher.
He's thinking SEC school, or FSU if Norvell doesn't make it, or Clemson if Dabo replaces Saban, or Miami when Diaz fails, or VT when Fuente leaves.

What about Jamey Chadwell from Coastal Carolina?
Coming up with lists and names at this stage is kind of like banging your head against the wall - sure it's fun but what's the point?

So, here I go banging my head... What's interesting about Chadwell is stuff like:

“The reason why we like to run the offense that we do, you don’t have to have the best linemen in the country to win games,” Chadwell said. “You don’t have to have the best receivers in the country to win games. Every job that I have had has been a rebuild. We’ve had to develop and recruit talent that fits your system.

“Part of the reason that we like to do the offense, is it gives you a chance to win games. We were probably the eighth most talented team out of ten in our league — and won the league this year. Part of that is because you get kids to buy into your scheme and your system, and they fit that. We can do a variety of different things. Recruiting is not hard for it, you just have to find the right guys that want to fit into what you do.” - Jamey Chadwell

I have no idea if that approach would work at SU or in the ACC. But it was interesting to read about Chadwell.

I’m not all in on Addazio. Just saying he checks a lot of boxes if we’re not bringing in an up and coming coach and we could(and have) do a lot worse than 6-6/7-5 every year

He’s a good recruiter in that his recruits become draft calibre contributors. Three from his unit last year alone’s impressive. Not to mention it’s Duce, Williams and Jones (all Monroe guys) putting up essentially all positive headlines we have aside fRom Tucker this year
Great recruiter great position coach. He will have found recruited developed and put possibly 5 guys in the NFL after next year.
Maybe he should be head coach

How can you aim higher than Syra….. never mind
