Would not count out last year or this year freshman receivers to step up.I would live to see Hendrix be the guy, but at this point I'm not getting my hopes up.

Excluding NJ, only Harris and Queeley had more than 10 catches this season. If guys were game ready this year I'm assuming they would have had more run, especially in a 1-10 season.
To me guys are going to have to get game ready in the off-season. Everyone can hope but no one on the roster outside of our Top 2 has shown anything at the collegiate level to merit confidence. Measurables and HS tape don't count in my analysis.
Its an unproven group imo and I believe the staff should be looking to fill a spot with an experienced transfer.
i wouldn’t waste a limited spot on another receiver, it’s way down the list of needs
Brisley Estime says Hi!
just signed three 6-3,6-4 guys.
Not a big deal.Great for 2022+. Next year, I’d take the experienced guy over most any true FR.

Why wouldn't they view him as an asset at WR?hard to see top 25 teams taking him against the 25 count just to be a punt returner.. I would think they would want someone who can be an asset as a WR and then returns punts to use up a roster spot that way. it will be interesting to see where he ends up
So you’re saying we’ll need to replace outgoing seniors with new, younger players? Interesting.
Every year in Dino’s tenure, we’ve had a WR move on and needed to replace them. If they know one position really well, it’s WR.
Its ok to disagree. Just my thoughts. Our offense has been so bad as of late I want ss many playmakers as possible.
We’ll see if they are as worried as you are.
Can't depend on Hendrix, hasnt he been injired most of the last 2 years?Harris, Hendrix, Queeley start next year
No. Im saying we don't have any proven weapons at WR outside of Harris and Queeley. I don't see anyone else on the roster that has shown they are plug and play and were just waiting there turn. I like Jackson and Alford but they are unproven. There are 3 open spots and Im hopeful that a few guys step up and make it happen.
Obviously, the coaches know more than all of us. From a fan perspective I think we could definitely use an outside WR as a grad transfer. Thats my wish.
Yeah, with how many we have been bringing in, I would hope we can find a true #1 that can be the man for more than 1 year.Would not count out last year or this year freshman receivers to step up.
With the 3 QB'S we played last year none of them really had the time to look for that 2nd or 3rd receiver as our poor pass protection forced them to basically throw to the first receiver they could before getting sacked ,both TD and Rex do not have the athleticism to buy them extra time to find those 2nd and 3rd receivers, as for as Morgan a raw true freshman he did as much as you could ask for under the same conditions. I would hope next year we have a better O'line a better running game and more options at the QB position, if so that should create opportunities for more receivers to be involved in the offense.Excluding NJ, only Harris and Queeley had more than 10 catches this season. I remember a few people being high on Queeley. Hopefully we have someone on the roster that can be an AET or Ishmael. I'd like for us to have someone on the outside that can be that guy that scares DC's.Last year at this time no one was counting on Queeley to be the starter. He was just one Joe among a list of Jordan, Hendrix, Sherod Johnson. Turns out he emerged and was OK.
We have a similar list now of guys who might step up to replace Nykeim in the slot or at wide receiver, allowing Taj to move inside. Might be Jackson inside or Alford outside, plus a TE who can contribute in the passing game more than Hackett. These guys need to improve — just as Queeley did.
Still, I would look to portal for someone better than Queeley and our young receivers. We aren’t loaded with offensive playmakers. WR, big safety, big DT.
The original question was him moving on to a school to be the punt returner.. I am saying he needs to be a valuable WR for him to go to a P5 school not just a PR guy since he counts towards the limits that he doesnt count here.. there may be schools that he would be valuable for.. good for him if he finds itWhy wouldn't they view him as an asset at WR?
When you say no one was counting on Queeley, you missed me. ;-) He's been terribly consistent since he showed up. Not slippery like Taj, but a consistent hard worker and fighter. Many of our 1st downs this year, were to him. If nothing else? Queeley is a 3rd down type receiver, imo.Last year at this time no one was counting on Queeley to be the starter. Are there going to be anymore disappointments like this?
Many fans aren’t going to flinch at this one because he had an average career as a WR, but he was an excellent punt returner. Likely the 2nd best we’ve had in 20+ years.
The kickoff return seems to be the most penalized offensive play in sports.
