2022 NFL Thread

Obviously I dislike both teams so I cannot be accused of being a homer .. that whole ending felt very scripted or predetermined. It was basically decided the giants were going to win and the refs made sure.
Nothing to do with the ref, but no way is he on the line of scrimmage.

Because they can escape the pass rush better?
Yeah, but also, I just think Brady is kinda bad at this point. Not in like the Sam Darnold-Zach Wilson level of bad, but I think Brady is part of the problem in Tampa. I think the off field/practice stuff is part of the problems the team is suffering from but he’s also just scared to get hit nowadays and that’s bled into the playcalling and the decision-making once the plays are actually executed.

He’s still a good passer. He’s just scared to run plays that put his body at risk and it severely limits the offense.

Jalen Hurts out versus Dallas next Saturday.

EDIT: I got this info from a good source but have not seen it confirmed anywhere else but betting line has gone from Dallas-1 to Dallas -5.

Plus he comes off as a crotchety old man. It's time for him to ride on.

Saw rumors on twitter he may be done for the regular season with a broken collarbone.

He comes off as someone having a major midlife crisis. He has zero reason to play. Just retire before you have a devastating injury.

He took a lot of big shots on running plays yesterday. Not surprised he is banged up. They need to reduce that stuff. Save it for the do or die games
They are calling it a sprained shoulder. Status Uncertain for Saturday. I imagine he would try to play if he can.

also remember. contact is not illegal in the NFL its interference thats illegal. did he remove the ability for the WR to make the catch is all that matters. or did the defender gain an advantage by grabbing the WR that allowed him to make a play.
My post was in reference to the idea that the official intentionally lied to a player about whether he was in a legal formation. That seems pretty far out there.

The DPI no-call, well, IDK. Certainly seems people get called for far, far less than that.

one thing the NFL should do is if a team gets in by winning a division and is under .500 they should not get to host a game.

I mean if Tampa gets in at 7-10 or something stupid they shouldnt be hosting Dallas at 13-4.
Agreed. It's important to win your division, but that shouldn't mean you automatically host a game.

I'd probably go with either a) if you're under .500, you don't get to host, or b) if there's a 2/3/4 game difference between the division winner's win total and the wild card's win total, you don't get to host.

I’m even more mad we dropped an easy pick like 2 plays before this…after they botched the snap and it popped up in the air and the QB luckily caught it.

They got lucky twice on the same play. I would’ve been livid if they scored, and then got the 2 to tie it.

Now i gotta here them bellyache over bad calls.

Just like the Eagles/Wash game had calls go for Wash, but I felt they should have won...this felt very similar in the opposite direction

Giants were clearly the better team, imo. Wash got bad calls, no doubt, but their refusal to stick to run in did them in. Wash had chances. Heineke fumbles and then Saquon on that last drive was a killer. 6 pt swing. I get the refs were/are BS, but sometimes you got to fight through it.

Like the Cuse/Clemson game from this year :)

Also, Breer saying it "literally changed the outcome" is simply untrue. They still had to convert the 2, stop them from getting a late FG, then win in OT.

It's not even close to LITERALLY changing the outcome

The two fumbles were just enormous. One directly cost them 7 points; and the other almost surely cost them a FG. Agreed they should’ve stuck to the run more then they did - they ran it pretty well and the Giants were getting good pressure on passing plays- which caused those 2 game changing fumbles.

Won't matter. Iggles will still win. Dallas is in free fall.
