Have you tried curating your channels? You can filter out any ones you don’t use and can group them any way you want. Also, if you are watching multiple games at once, there are easy “last channel” feature that allows your to go back and forth between multiple channels more easily than on cable. Supposedly, YouTube TV will also be adding a multi watch feature that allows you to have four browsers/channels at once.
I watch a ton of stuff a the same time.. its why I have 5 tvs set up at a minimum. there are easily 20-30 channels you have to move around on to deal with this.. You might have fball/hockey/basketball/soccer all going at once.. On sunday ST will be showing up..

So think about it.. You are watching the giants play on youtube tv and you want to go watch the Packers game which is on youtube premium.. it wont be a matter of changing channels its a different section of the app. so the multi screen feature likely wont work but who knows.

You dont just type a new number in and go.. You pull up the guide and scroll until you find it and move and you do this 100x a game.

Also the new service means no dvr functions so no live recording or fast forwarding or rewinding.. that sucks.

And if you dont have youtube tv and you have 1 tv its will be impossible to easily watch 2 games. at least with directv you could move around. now you have 1 app for some games and a different source of others and if the sourse is anothe app its even worse.

“The new service means no DVR functions”…..where are you getting that from?

from one of the stories that the NFL put out

he new package

I caught up with YouTube chief product officer (and previous Decoder guest) Neal Mohan briefly to talk about the deal, what it means for the experience of watching NFL games, and whether this gets the NFL’s broadcast partners like Fox and CBS any closer to games in 4K. (Spoiler: sigh.) I also confirmed a key difference between buying Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV over the main YouTube app: only YouTube TV will offer DVR features, per YouTube spokesperson Allison Toh.

This may be the first time ever I have been on the "right side" of one of these mea culpas.
I’m still mad and think we could’ve won the 2002 Super Bowl if they didn’t screw this up.

How did Fassell not even argue or question it?

Ok…so YouTubeTV will offer DVR for Sunday Ticket…just like they do with every other channel? I guess I misunderstood what you were saying. Didn’t realize you’d be able to buy the ticket through regular YouTube too.

Also, i grew up being amazed simply that I could watch the Lakers or Dodgers at my Grandparents house and would watch the satellite dish slowly turn its way towards those channels.

I say that to say I think the clunkiness of flicking back and forth, will smoothen out in time….just like when we went from slowly moving satellite dishes to directtv which operated just like cable only with way more sports channels.

I would think if you watch any football game that the PI call is pretty much screwed up at least 10 times a game.. And its wrong both ways.. I think way to little is called on the Offense, They miss too many that are penalties and they call many that should not be.

I think there was contact on that play for sure.. Im not convinced it really caused the WR to not have a fair chance to catch the ball. I do think you could argue maybe the slight hook made it easier for the DB to gain some balance to get the other hand over the top.

I'm not clear that thats the case at all.. its not on youtubetv its on the premium channel section. Its really not clear that you will get dvr functions on that section..

from other sites it doesnt look like it will be on the main youtube channels no matter how you buy it it just means you will able to get it as a stand alone purchase.

Who knows.

do you get DVR function if you use youtube to watch like HBO?

To me it says the difference is that sunday ticket will not work like reg youtube TV does.. But since the author of the story didnt really undertand the issue they didnt really get a clear answer.

Lot of misinformation here . With you tube tv you can record everything that’s playing simultaneously. It’s pretty insane. And it’s all DVR. Pretty much every smart tv comes with the AP or you can download it.

If you have YouTube TV and get the nfl package, the games will be grouped together in the guide. I had the mlb package for YouTube tv and it was just like it was when I had it on DTV

but can you do that on youtube on the non youtube channels?

Its like when you do on demand stuff often FF/RW is not allowed on that content.. You cant skip over commercials and the like.. This may be like that.

they may not let you even record games..

all good questions for the story

thats a good thing.. And thats a reason some people might want to switch to it to make it work better. But it also something that a huge number wont be switching just adding the service and will want to understand.

My guess is if you buy the Sunday ticket as a stand alone, it’s going to use the YouTube Tv interface. Not like they are going to charge you more for it. There’s no equipment to buy anyway and it’s month to month subscription

Forget about YouTube . I have hbo max through YouTube Tv. I have the option of watching on demand through YouTube Tv interface or using the hbo max ap separate..

There’s no need to switch. It costs nothing . Just download it

Enjoy the games today if you can. The games the next two days amount to a shize sandwhich

When there are games to be wagered upon then there should be opportunities to enjoy. :)

Gotcha. Yeah, you use it a bit different than I do. Nevertheless, I do find it easier to navigate with YTTV between multiple stations. If I want to watch multiple games at once, I'll pull the YTTV app up on multiple tvs/monitors/computers so that I can easily watch more than one game or sport at a time. I can then even use split screens if I need to or easily navigate between the games I've been watching.

Also, just a distinction - if Sunday Ticket is on YTTV, it will have recording features. If it's on YT alone, it will not. My comments are about YTTV, which I anticipate will be recordable. I was just reflecting on the fact that I have the last four Super Bowls in my recording catalog at present (as well as every Cuse FB & BB game that has been shown on YTTV). If Sunday Ticket is an add on feature like other premium offerings, it will be recordable.

HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS. Dak with a terrible pick 6. Frankly it was Peterman like

NFL Network with an epic fail tonight. Break for three minutes of commercials during the Franco Harris halftime tribute. Completely blew it off after hyping the hell out of it.
