I’m still holding out for a playoff spot. What can I say, I’m an optimistic fan. But, I am 10 miles from Everbank Stadium, so that’d be my preference otherwise.

Even if we don’t make the playoffs, if we have a solid record at the end of the year bowls will want to McCord in their game. He probably wont play in it but if it gets us into a better bowl, great.

Unless he has some sort of injury I would bet Kyle plays in a bowl.

I wonder how NIL fits in to this. Does anyone know? I can’t imagine someone is going to pay someone $900k and not have it be required to play all games if healthy? Who knows

I don't think that's allowed since it would be pay for play but in this wild West world of NIL, who knows?

I mean allegedly hoops is playing in Vegas in a tournament that puts $1M in our NIL coffers.

Not sure how that's not pay to play, so who knows?

NIL can’t be based on performance or games played. Guy could sign an NIL and never play a game. Can’t require the player to play in a bowl game or certain % of games.

Non playoff bowl games are not an exhibition. It's just something that certain fans say who don't like lower bowls. They count just as much as any regular season game.

I love all bowl games especially for a program that has been starved for them. However, it would be foolish for McCord to play (unless he needs more tape for NFL).

In a way yeah, but the awards are handed out before all the bowl games are played, the conference championships are well over, and all but 4 of them don’t mean a thing for the national championship. So yeah the stats count, but they don’t actually mean anything other than an opportunity for the players to get some free stuff and play in a low stakes game. It’s not as bad as the senior bowl, but it’s not too far away.

Never heard anyone say they were exhibition games. They go on your record, an exhibition game wouldn’t. And they count for the final rankings which an exhibition wouldn’t.
