ACC: New BCS, Orange Bowl, and what we should expect...

Good question: according to my source you are correct...all conferences are going to receive $$$...and the split appears to be headed to 55%-65% top 5 conferences and 35%-45% to everyone else...big disperity as to what those conferences get as a % but since the pie of $$$ are soaring, it is thought everyone to get much more than previously

If that is true, then that will help drive the major conferences away from the NCAA all together which has been rumored for awhile. They do not want to share the big money with the lesser conferences.

Bees...I believe that is good thinking. Over time, and not sure of time frame, the NCAA will either have to become more flexible with rules etc or these top conferences may just go own way. However, for the SEC and Big 12 that may work out fine since their academic standards are much lower than the ACC, B1g and even Pac 12...problem is academic standing may be thrown out the window if NCAA bends and/or conferences bolt. That would place conferences like ACC at a disadvantage unless it lowers academic standards for athletes even more than done today.
And Bees, the top 5 conferences dont want to share with the NCAA nor the smaller conferences...including the BE.

The "Champions Bowl" is a game between the SEC #2 team and the Big12 #2 team. It has NOTHING to do with determining a national champion.

Pairings and seeding procedures for the two semi-final games have yet to be determined.

Suffice it to say the Champions Bowl is really the "Runners'-up Bowl".

...and they do not want the NCAA meddling in student/athlete affairs. For example grades required; whether payment should be made etc. With fewer rules, players of a higher football calliber may actually get into colleges to play where with the NCAA there are measurements of academic meaning

My back of the envelope, seat of the pants estimate is that the whole magilla will represent somewhere between $3.8M to $4.6M in incremental revenue to SU's coffers each year. Do not question my math. :D
That is what I get also. Hard to believe but seems true.
