I played football for many years as a kid, and ran cross country and track in college for 3 years. I know what it is to be on functional teams, very good teams, and very dysfunctional teams. I have played for state champs, undefeated teams, and teams that couldn't win a game. I know what I'm looking at.

I am confused then. If you can recognize dysfunction, why did you say you were shocked by the lateral moves if you are now trying to say they are a sign of dysfunction?

Maybe dino not happy with our recruiting performance over the past 7 years and committed to bringing in better recruiters who can elevate the level of talent on team. If recruiting gets better, so be it, i’m all for the changes.

Matt's 'I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany' aside, I would be willing to guess that the Dino/Anae relationship wasn't working out.

I remember the first interview after he was hired and Dino said we're going to use things from his offense, and combine with elements of mine. I stored that away and thought we'll see how that goes.

Anae hadn't worked for an offensive guy in quite a while. There were moments on the sideline and in postgame press conference that seemed a bit tense. And then a guy in his 60s is one year job jumping to a school without a returning QB? Something was up and I think Anae wanted to go back to working for a D guy. But I like how it worked out for us.

I am thinking if Wake is going to sign him, it needs to happen soon. The long things go on without an announcement, the better our chances of having two Chips associated with the Syracuse football program.

I found it telling that Wildhack gave a press conference after the regular season ended and gave an answer to a question about whether Anae would be back in 2023, and Wildhack said something like "that's Coach Babers' decision". So there was fuel to the speculation.

In fact, Dino even stated we are in agreement on about 80% of decisions.

80%?! That should be 100%.

There were multiple times they were seen arguing on the sidelines.

There’s no point defending it, it was clear to most that they simply weren’t seeing eye to eye

I saw them once, 100% would mean one of them is not being honest. Nobody that thinks is 100% with someone else. I saw them having discussions a few times which I assume some people call arguments.

Or it could be that they knew West was looking. If he leaves it could effect who they hire and how much they have to pay. Just a thought.
