Coaching is terrible.

I think a fair question is is Buddy and Joe playing majority minutes for 2 maybe 3 years turning off prospective guard prospects. I mean, the answer seems pretty obvious.
I know its been discussed a lot, but, I can't believe a competitor like JB can't see this

As long as it’s like a Ennis/Cooney situation where the PG does 99.9% of the ball handling.

Not this “whoever gets the ball is the PG” stuff we’ve been doing. Alan can’t dribble and Kadary off the ball is pointless.
We’ve made that work in the past. It’s not like Z Sims played the 2, or Southerland ran point.

"it's not like we have viable alternatives"

Even if this was a coaches first year and he simply inherited a roster, that would STILL be a douchey/unnecessary thing to say publicly.
I have been saying relentlessly here for months how do we only have 3 guards on this roster with ZERO 2021 guard commits and we lost our top 2022 guard commit to de commitment and our top SG target to Ohio State.
JB doesn’t care to try and upgrade the backcourt because we all know Buddy, Joe and Kadary are enough.

Honest question what guard would realistically come here knowing Buddy and Joe are going to play 30 plus minutes a night regardless of how bad they play?

At this point, what would it hurt to change things up? Kadary, Griff, Bras, Q and Marek. We might lose our theoretical "3 point threat" but might see better defense and rebounding. Not that I see it actually happening.

Enough with the players though. It’s really the other crap that bugs me. We constantly fold in the second half. Coaching.

We make no adjustments. Coaching.

We don’t run anything to get any player easy shots. Coaching.

Is the talent perfect? No, but we do nothing to help the players that are on the court.

I’d imagine the unapologetic JB sycophant percentage within the fanbase will be down to 45% or so by the end of the year.

Playing a center and starting Kadary and playing him 30 would help. Playing Braswell more and Griffin less would help too.

Of course those things might hurt the offense, but we aren’t exactly clinging to much there in the first place.

We have interchangeable parts...that we don't interchange much. It's not like we have the ZERO options that is being put forth in pressers.

We've seen some positive play from Woody, Bras, Kadary, but we're still rolling on with the same pattern every game which only changes due to foul trouble, or JG being so horrifically bad that he has to sit.

Some of those guys are better shooters, some more athletic, some better defenders...so, not sure what we're so perplexed about re: zero options.

That's what is most frustrating to me. There should be tinkering afoot. It reminds me of our guys just standing around watching during rebounding.

I mean it wouldn’t hurt to run him off screens. Again we do zilch to help our players.

I do feel bad for Buddy and Marek - as they are incredibly useful pieces that we're "rewarding" in some ways with unlimited minutes (I guess?????), but punishing them in almost every way imaginable by just leaving them out there on an island expecting them to do things that just cannot do for 40 minutes. :(

One change I would like to see with the current group of guys that play is move Marek to Forward and try Guerrier or Braswell at center. It couldn’t make things worse there on the interior.
We should just press for 40

What about Woody?

I'd take that too - none of it likely works, but Bras and Woody seem like they enjoy jumping really high more than falling, so it may help.

I have tried so hard to stay on the positive end of all this. I just don't see it anymore. There are so many flaws but the lack of effort, movement on offense and adjustments on D is a coaching issue. I am not sure it's JB alone. We miss Hop. It's clear our asst coaches could be partly the issue too. Any way you look at it we are a mess as a program right now vs what we should be. Yes it could be worse and yes we have an unquestionable HOF running the show who if not for untimely injuries and NCAA crap would have 2 or 3 titles.
you mean, the same existing assistant coaches that a portion of our fanbase is falling over themselves to hire as JB's replacement?
