NfL combine lookin all energized
If you leave a job after just two years and only one (sort of) winning season, can you still get sainthood?I have a hard time looking straight at Marrone. The glow from his halo is really bright and makes me have to squint.
If you perform a miracle, yes.If you leave a job after just two years and only one (sort of) winning season, can you still get sainthood?

Or you can continue to hammer the guy who helped us from under the bridge. Either or.
You guys are using some really, really loose definitions for strong words like "hammer" and "animosity" for some pretty tame jokes.I will never understand the animosity. It's a little like Syracuse.com here whenever HCDM is mentioned.

The energized part fits in with one theory I heard. He figured out what everyone else already knew, that he is too thin-skinned to be a head coach. That his place is position coaching.NfL combine lookin all energized
At this point I think the sensitivity far outweighs the "hammering".
that he is too thin-skinned to be a head coach.
Shafer was all in on McDonald. You don't think through some of the things you say.Getting mocked by a guy who was all in on MacDonald.
There's a credible source.

He made syracuse a mediocre team and nothing more. He also pissed off a lot of people along the way. That's all hes done. Don't make him more than what he isOr you can continue to hammer the guy who helped us from under the bridge. Either or.
And who was Dougs first OC that he freaked out in the locker room on??? I guess his first hire wasn't great either.Getting mocked by a guy who was all in on MacDonald.

no, he left buffalo because hes a QUITTER.So he left Buffalo because he was too thin-skinned now? Give it a rest, you have no idea what you're talking about.
He was a mediocre coach that got most of his wins because of really good defensive coordinators. Of his 6 years of coaching he put exactly one good offense on the field. By all accounts where he has worked he was paranoid and impossible to deal with. That's the truth about Doug Marrone. Are you saying this isn't true? In 6 years he did nothing more than mediocrity.Way to spin it. He turned Syracuse into a respectable team capable of winning most of the games on their schedule. In 2 years, he took us to a bowl game... 2 years after inheriting the nation's worst P5 football team.
He left too soon, but he did good for Syracuse football. Don't try to spin the "nothing more" statement. He made huge strides.

Go has a very concise narrative going. Marrone's early struggles were due yo the limitations of inheriting Grob's roster. Marrone's successes were due to Marrone's genius. Marrone's later failings were due to injuries and the still limited roster left by Grob. Marrone's later successes confirmed his genius. Shafer's first season success is due to Marrone's rebuild. Shafer's failure this season is due to McDonald. And who was Dougs first OC that he freaked out in the locker room on??? I guess his first hire wasn't great either.
That all may be true but the record speaks for itself. You can't say if he stayed this would have happened. It didn't happen and that's where his career is. A mediochre record and he pissed off a lot of people. He's now back to being a position coach right where he started. That's a reality you just have to deal withBy the end of 2012 SU was one of the 25 best teams in the country. Pretty damn good job from starting with the worst.
Harbaugh first four years 29-21, same exact record first three years.
Four win difference in year four, I wonder if Andrew Luck might have had something to do with that?
