Elijah Robinson to LSU ?

I've never heard of anyone ever in any job getting demoted and not being disgruntled.

Yeah, I've come around to this. And a new DC shouldn't have to worry about that. We should have hired him as DL coach originally with a DL coach level salary. Maybe a small bump for some other rather meaningless title.

But, at the time, it seemed like his ability to recruit was exactly what we needed. His lack of experience at DC was exactly what we did not need.

I think the thought was we wouldn't be able to get him at DL coach, given that's what he was at A&M. Maybe he would've given Fran a friends discount, though.

Ultimately, I think it was worth a shot for Fran. At the time he was a guy with no head coaching experience. If his buddy ended up being ready, we caught lightning in a bottle. It didn't work out and I'm glad Fran didn't wait any longer to make the change. He was able to point to the 10 win season and recruiting wins as evidence to what he's building and now it looks like we got our guy.

Give him some of Nick Williams money in addition to what they were going to pay him to be Co-DC and keep him as Co-DC.

as Co-DC.

Now Ohio State and Notre Dame, and even Georgia come on down lol.
Yeah we're doing pretty well with depth players from elite schools. We should probably be a bit more cautious with guys from 2nd tier schools like LSU, Florida, etc. I'd rather have Uber productive players from G5 or lower that know how to play football.

If depends. I wouldn't take backups from factories that haven't seen the field (Collins) but am good with backups that have looked good but will never break into the starting line up (Angeli). Coaches have to be good at scouting and finding good fits for our needs.
