I assume deflation of the roof includes everything, including the steel & fabric. They need to take that down without damaging structure or the rest of the bowl so it's going to take some time.
I agree it will take time but a week to deflate and remove the whole roof? Seems incredibly optimistic. The longest cables are 700 feet long and weigh 7 tons each.
 
Wow ... they gutted it. Probably easier than trying to work within a legacy configuration. Good to see steel going up though.
The portion they really "gutted" or removed was the addition that was added on after the fire.

Those other schools that invest big do it largely on fundraising or state money.
