Future Campus Framework Discussion

if you want to stand and talk why not do it at your seats. is every meeting up with people outside thier seat area?
Given the current state of ticket sales for a 7-3 team, maybe fans want more options. Hope having this space for those that want other options for a 4+ hour trip to the Dome, plus some of the other improvements puts more asses in seats.

but who is walking from the west side of the 50 to go over there. its a hike and for bball even more of a hike for most of the crowd.

now if they figured out how to do the same thing on the west side maybe they have something.

Its hard to even get to the bathroom and back at halftime the way people are standing around.

Made it in there before the game today. Thought it was a great new space. Can definitely foresee lots of different uses for it. It’s too bad it’s not on the basketball end of the Dome. Oh well.

Liked it a lot. I’d like to see more high top tables. You could even put some counters wrapped around the poles. Maybe even some bench seating around the outside and some orange paint thrown around. I think it will get there.

Great addition, cool space. Call Shehadi’s and get some Persian’s if you need something soft to stand on.

Concrete makes sense for a lot of reasons - cleaning, durability, cost to name a few.

Really liked that area. Could detract from attendance, definitely during basketball though.

I would think they could move the basketball court fairly easily, but then there is the locker room issue

Not just the locker rooms, but the movable bleachers as well. I doubt they’d ever reconfigure the dome that way. It’d prob be cheaper to build another expansion on the west end.

I loved it. We entered there instead of our usual entrance. The location is the one that makes the most sense given the dome’s location. Another one added in the future would be great but other locations are more challenging. Double Bourbon Smash was delicious. Great addition to the dome experience!

Yep this new addition is a game changer for Syracuse giving a “big time” feel to the place. Loved loved loved it the combination of the new addition with the old architecture maintained and connected/highlighted along with the new modern look of it overall.

I didn’t really know about it, nor pay much attention as I thought it was going to be exclusively a high rollers/Big donors only spot and had no idea it would be open to all of us.

The new bar and drink choices were stellar, new food good, the tvs EVERYWHERE fun. And so so cool to be able to look into the dome itself and see the beauty of what thats turned into.

As I told wildhack directly it’s not just a home run but a grand slam that will pay immeasurable dividends down the road, the degree of which they don’t even know yet.

The only thing left to do is get larger than life pictures of all the Syracuse legends up and all over the walls in there. It’ll be the perfect spot for the acc crew to set up in and maybe even the gameday set up if that ever get here on cold weather games.

EVERY recruit needs to be brought through there. Not sure we can be at the table with the biggest boys in this New modern era of “collegiate” sports, but at least it appears we are definitely trying.

The place is fantastic

Yup, I think the space is awesome.

Hope they can find a big sponsor to do the west side as well.

The Dome is starting to feel like a big boy stadium

I like your idea of placing blown up pics of Syracuse Legends in there. There is a LOT of space for them after all!

Loved it too. Wise move to leave it open. The dome needed a big space like this for people to relax and talk. Agree the exterior of the addition was tastefully done and fits in nicely as a bridge from the Barnes Center to the dome.

It was packed with people on what was supposed to be a soft opening. Heard Pete Sala say they would add more tables if they were needed. Yes Pete, triple the number you have in there now and maybe you will be close to what is needed.

I think the popularity of this is going to help drive an expansion on the western side of the dome down the road. But that one one will surely expand the concourse on both levels. Hopefully the planning for that is already well underway.

I too thought it was great. I entered directly from the ESF side. However my friend said those doors were all closed when he tried 5 mins later, which was weird. For me it is so much more convenient to enter the Dome. It was like a big sports bar. Great place to pound one down post tailgate before you head to your seat.

I did try exiting that way as well. Nice place to see any games still going on. Although it was a little hard to get there. I was walking the opposite direction of everyone else who was leaving the Dome. Plus everything there for purchase was closed.

I’ve always fantasized about adding a hotel to the West side of the Dome.

(granted, it’s waaay down the list. Kathy Ireland was much higher  )

I’m sure the logistics would be challenging to say the least, but how cool would that be??

I'm wondering if the West side is trickier since there is where the football teams load into the locker room and need that space.

If they can find another area to do the same thing that would be amazing. It's a shame the law school got built years ago because they could have done something absolutely massive then.

There is the area outside of Gate A that seems like it can be expanded to the street. Also the lower Gates on the Quad side would be nice. Having an area on the lower level. Those gates are already part of the Dome's footprint. But in both those cases it doesn't make sense for BBall, only as you proposed would.

Yeah the Dome footprint makes any extension project very difficult. My guess is ESF side and West side have too many issues. That would probably leave the side and corner where Falk College is and there's some parking there that could theoretically be sacrificed.
