Last season when Iffy was given a series off to take a breather prolly.Have we ever had 5 positions in the secondary all manned by FR?

I would guess no, but half of those guys aren’t really freshmen or rs frosh. Garrett has been on campus for 3 years and is still a frosh be it red shirt, same with nunn, and some others.
given that the db’s are still quite young! So point is valid.
Well, he is up to 170 lbs. He is a tough kid and a very good athlete. I hope he holds up!Anyone surprised to see Hanna at Rover? I thought that would maybe be carter or a bigger more physical safety. To me it would seem you want an athletic safety/LB hybrid guy to start there.
Surprises:
- No Adams among the RBs
- Elmore over Benson: I guess we're going to run the ball
- Johnson over Alford?
- Bleich is 45 pounds lighter than the guy behind hi,
- Cantin-Arku behind Wax on the outside
- Coley still not a starter. Maybe I expected too much from him
- Hanna as a rover. He does like to throw his little body around. He reminds me of Julian Whigham.
Whigham would be the first to tell you he didn't like to throw his "little body around". Speaking of, whatever happened to him?- Hanna as a rover. He does like to throw his little body around. He reminds me of Julian Whigham.
170 hitting hard doesnt exactly hold up in the ACC as we've seen with Antwan Cordy. I hope hes effective but we'll seeI'm not. I imagine he's going to cover the slot and the safety will be the run stopper. Hanna does fly all over the place though certainly hits bigger than his 170.
He already is.I think Garrett Williams will be an NFL prospect in short order.

I'm not trying to be negative. And I understand that other programs may have more experience than we do. It's just that we're in Dino's sixth season and he completely owns the current state of the roster. If we fail to get to a bowl a terribly unconvincing rationale, at least to me, is that we are "too young" to expect to win 6 games. Maybe we are, we'll see, but that's entirely on Din

I think he’s going to be good for us. He’s a surprising kid.I don't see how any of these changes are more surprising than Lutz as the number 2 RB. Kid has some good runs late last year, but to surpass two RB's that had the majority of carries two years ago is surprising to me.

Didnt really expect to see Sharod starting over Alford. I still would expect to see Alford and Gadsden more in the Red Zone where they can use there height advantages.
Lutz received a ton of praise from everyone but really shocked he passed both Howard and Adams. Wonder if the late Covid opt outs last year had any influence in it.
Elmore over Benson at TE. Not even sure why I am shocked by it with our O being completely oblivious to the fact that they can pass to them. It does help explain why the new kid bailed after only two weeks.
Kind of expected Simmons to get the start at Rover or Corner. Maybe he still is learning the system or HCDB was just running him every incase one of the younger guys falters. Either way I expect to see him on the field often.
Really excited for this year. I think it could be '18 part 2. With a ton of young talent to actually make it stick.
You're absolutely right. Dino owns this. All of this, including what appears to be a bright future if these guys continue to develop.
Patience. Oranges look a lot like lemons before they ripen.
But yeah, if you told me in 2018 that Abdul Adams would still be here in 2021 and be the 4th string RB, "I would have checked both legs to see which one you were pulling!" - Annie Wilkes
I wonder if Johnson is the player Babers was referring to when he said that Jahad Carter was in his ear about how improved one of the wide receivers was. I'm betting it's himTisdale starting tells me that Davis isn't physically ready / healthy. Thankfully, Tisdale is a guy who started last year -- so depth pays off.
I seem to recall Sharrod Johnson being talked up by the coaches a couple of years ago, only to have him not really see the field. Hopefully, he's finally actualizing his potential. Need all the help at WR we can get. Hope him being in that top spot on the depth chart indicates that the WR positional unit may be stronger than it seemed to be on paper.
