I think the requirements are:
1) Plays for a team/city that is not polarizing to most of the country. (NY/Boston teams are out, dynasty type teams out)
2) Played college sports at another school that doesn't invoke much hatred (mid-majors are ideal)
3) Long career with same team is a bonus.
4) Should be kind boring.
Federer, Tim Duncan are solid picks. For baseball I say Cal Ripken when he was playing. Football I think Drew Brees is a good pick.
