NC State Attendance

Nope...why did you have a person like that too?
Yes, at the end of row C. Up and down, pacing, yelling at negative plays, etc. After the weird Dungey series, he said something along the lines of, "I'm out. I've had enough."

Maybe the beers are getting to me, though the crowd was fine except the student section

Student section actually filled up too at one point (then dissolved around the start of the second half like usual- baby steps though). It's hard for me to tell from where i sit, but the lower bowl has looked pretty good the last few home games. Up top is a different story, but it's still difficult for me to believe that the Dome was half-empty. Crowd looked on par with UCONN and FSU. And we also have Wildhack on record (maybe it was even Coyle) saying they are no longer figuring attendance using tickets sold. If that's the case, it's pretty easy to get an accurate count.

Again, to me, the magic number is 40k. A real 40k is a pretty full, loud Dome. The pricing structure up top needs to be addressed though. I'd tarp off the upper corners, funnel those fans into either the sideline or endzone uppers, and restructure the pricing.

you can not walk to skytop in 15-20 min.. you can get to manley though if you are a brisk walker in 15-20 or so on a good weather day. its a good 15-20 or more to cross the street go up the hill and then get to your car depending on where at skytop you are.

For the area not to sell out a measly 50k every game is pathetic. I come from Sackets with a crew, go early to the Fine Mess Tailgate and never leave until the team finishes the alma mater. Why can’t we support this team better? Those 2 ridiculous loses don’t help. Hype has been good from SU admin. But shouldn’t need it. Should be a sold out venue like other D1s around the country that sell out 80-100k stadiums.

28k

Either this city is too lazy to get off its couch or the interest in this program just no longer exists. I cringe everytime Dino walks out of tunnel and looks around with disappointment

Its the latter and its unfortunately what many non-locals don't understand. The biggest misconception is that there are 5K-7.5K plus locals who follow the program and are on the fence about attending the games. Trust me there isn't. It's going to take more then just this year (unless we had managed to win Clemson and Pitt) to get those fans back in the fold. Three straight years of 4-8 cratered most of the casuals leaving the diehards and a few thousand casuals who can see that the program is a lot better then where it started. A win this past Saturday was huge, finally breaks that 4 win mental ceiling, but anyone expecting 45K for Sat night against NC State is going to be sorely dissapointed. The 7pm start and below eligibility being on the line will definitely help. Your looking at the high 30's maybe low 40s if everything breaks right. As an aside if we somehow got 45K for this Saturday I am not sure the Dome staff could handle it, concessions and the rest of the crew are struggling with low 30s attendance right now.

I can second this. Actual fannies was closer to 30k.

I'd agree with this assessment. Man, though, when that game first came on the air at 12:20, it looked like there was less than 20k in that joint. :(

Your last line ties directly into why we won't have to worry about 45K. You need to want people to enjoy more than just the game. The whole experience needs to be special and we have work to do on most of those areas.

I will repeat this, we have to build the season ticket base. Back to 90s #s. We just aren't going to sell 25 k individual game tickets each week to get to 40 k. Going to take a few years of winning football .

tickets seem to be moving pretty well 1st level and 2nd are nearly sold out and some seats have sold in 3rd level as well

Any guesses based on the way tickets have been moving as of today?

I haven't looked at the seats available, I haven't talked to a contact in the box office, but I think it should be pretty clear at this point that the ceiling for football attendance these days is around 36K.

It is going to take something extraordinary to get above that. For instance, the opposing team needs to bring 10K to the party. That being said, the offer for $10 tickets for this game is, I think, unique and it will be interesting to see if it will have a significant impact on the attendance.

I am not real optimistic, but we can all hope.

Keep one thing in mind, many of the seats in the lower level beyeeen the 30s are bought by businesses. They often don’t get used for some reason.

last week on the bus in from manley i asked a random group of about 10 people both ways. not one new about the orange out. much like this $10. are they even letting people on campus know?

At peek it was absolutely fine.

Bottom bowl almost entirely full. Most of 2nd level was full as well. 3rd tier was scattered. Definitely 35k.

Only problem was that was basically only for part of the 2nd quarter.

Students didn't show until 2nd quarter and then were almost completely gone minus 250-300 or so by midway through the 3rd. By the 4th quarter the bottom bowl lost a quarter of the people. Just amazes me people show up to a game, but then leave a close game in the 4th quarter? Why show up in the first place? You can tell the people left are the die hards because the place was rocking.

Things are different.

People are talking about syracuse football at my job.

Stopped at the Pickle on Burnett, people are talking about it there.

There’s bilboards up, constant articles in the news. Our social media’s now surpassing my expectations.

This is a somewhat frightening thought that I invite, but we’re on the cusp of having a product that interests the casuals.

We have to capture the curiosity of the casuals and rebuild our season tickets holder base off of it. HUGE GAME, saturday.

from the 10min mark and on there was a great buzz in the building. too bad it was put to sleep for 2 hrs in between the start and the end.
