Comments: Our starters scored 967 to 918. We won this stat 9 times and were even once. We are 8-1 when we win it, 1-7 when we lose it and won the tied game.
Last year is was 1078-810. We won this stat 16 times. We were 7-9 when we won it and 1-1 when we lost it.
When you have a short bench, your starters need to win the battle vs. their starters. We had a better bench this year so they won it lest often and by smaller margins. But it actually seemed to make more of a difference as we didn’t have the deficit from the bench we normally have. Our starters have been out-scored 6 times in 7 games, a disturbing trend.

Our offense just doesn’t produce assists: we shoot it form outside or try to drive all the way to the basket. We can’t get pick and rolls because our big men can’t catch or shoot. Still it functions better when we penetrate and pass the ball and our stats here would improve if we did more of that. Fortunately, it’s an over-rated stat when you look at the won-lost record.
