Class of 2023 OL/DL Vincent Carroll-Jackson (PA) Flipped to Nebraska

Could this be a Steven Clark type of recruit? As I recall, Clark was highly recruited as an OL, but he wanted to play DL; so we landed him as a DL because we said that we'd keep him on that side of the ball.

Welcome Vincent,

“Caroll-Jackson is a three-star player from Harrisburg, PA. The 6’5 280 lb lineman just finished his first year of organized football and he committed to Syracuse over offers from Georgia, Florida, Pitt and Rutgers.”

And this was four days ago, looks like Nebraska doesn’t get EVERYTHING they want after all.

Guys stop freaking out.

any kid worth recruiting is going to have options and tons of suitors. Apparently we recruited him to be an OL here, where everyone else wants him to play defense. He hasn’t forgotten our visit in a week.

could he (or anyone else) flip. Yes. But this is literally the entire game. Work your butt off to earn a kids pledge and hold it. And as we have seen, one year later a lot of kids change their minds and hit the portal. The impressions we have left, will not be forgotten even if a kid does end up flipping.

this is what our coaches sign up for, the right to have a chance to hold onto an extremely talented kid late in the process.

Idk whose worse right now.

Nebraska or South Carolina.
Whichever one gets “the flip” is the one Cuse fans will hate more. Which will hopefully be neither

this is no different than what we just did to the ODU program when we flipped their DT earlier today. It’s just celebrated because we did the “stealing”

recruiting is very much similar to the phrase “alls fair in love and war”

there is nothing sacred, and everyone (including us) is after the best talent. We are going to be fighting for every one of our top kids, right down to the wire. If we didn’t, then we’d all be worried we weren’t fighting for the right kids.

Hey the guy got a free visit and will get treated great for a weekend. Once he sees he is in the middle of nowhere, it will be over. This isn’t Nebraska 1987. This is Nebraska 2022. Confidence guys, Swag worked the commitment.

The problem here is, Nebraska had no interest in the kid until Tony White arrived.

Just like they have been hammering a bunch of our top 2024 targets lately.

Hopefully the relationships built are enough to overcome the flash in the pan one night stand late in the process

Hoping Nebraska continues to suck

im sure Dino is pleased with TW lately

Sounds like Beck stealing Sellers from UVA last year. Kid didn’t have a real relationship with UVA, he had it with Beck. It’s why he’s still ours.

kids had relationships with White, that’s to be expected. It’s our job to convince them SU is worth it, even without White.

when you lose good coaches and good recruiters, they are going to be fighting for the same kids they fought for here. We haven’t had that problem for a long time, because we haven’t lost a good coordinator who is also a good recruiter in a long time. Inevitably between this year and next, White is going to get some wins with guys he might well have won here too.

hopefully this kid isn’t one of them, because he’s a guy I’m as excited about as any in the class.

Harold Brantley did that to us years ago if I remember right.

Committed to us, then went to Missouri the next weekend and flipped to them.
He was committed to us for a while before he flipped to Missouri.
