He actually did.
...Except it was the last two years. The BC game is fixed.

nzm136 are getting me and GoSU96 to agree. No he didn't.
He tried to run the Shannahan offense with Perry Patterson playing the role of John Elway.
Please step away from the keyboard.
I'm sure you could come up with some random, useless statistics on Frost that could change my mindfrost just moved up my board
What? You are aware Marrone was the head coach here, right? That was the process where Marrone was the 3rd or 4th choice, right?
...Except it was the last two years.
I don't think SU should go from a West Coast or Spread offense to a more traditional pro style offense, complete with a real FB and TE, because of the dome. I think SU should follow this route because these are the type of lineman and football players that can be recruited to come to play here. Say what you want but we will never see a full complement of offensive linemen as fast as the average SEC line. SU and teams like PSU, Pitt and BC will succeed with an offense that runs upfield right away and goes after the defense.
And while SU may not have too many traditional cold weather games, they could always get stuck in a muddy game in the southern ACC stadiums. Just sayin...

I don't think that it would work here like it does there. If we get a guy that can put us #1 in the ACC (or any other major conference for that matter) in offense, then I really don't care what his philosophy is. However, making a radical change from what we're doing, or implementing a system that isn't supported by the local talent isn't likely to work - no matter how much some of the posters here whine.Oregon was 1st in the Pac 12 last year in total offense, and is rated 1st in the Pac 12 this year so far.
I think we'd all be happy with Frost bringing that kind of offense to the Dome.
So many similarities. I am begging him to use the same process we used to hire Marrone.BEGGING!!

these posts are making today way too much fun. i want to feel bad for shafer for a full day but posts like this are too fun
I don't think picking an offense based on one potential bad matchup a year is a really good idea.Good luck running a warm weather offense against @Pitt and @BC in December, and good luck out-Florida-ing FSU and Clemson.
If you're waiting for a system to be supported by local talent then you should just go follow Cortland. There isn't enough local talent to support any D1 offense, period. Where is Dungey from? It isn't Albany.I don't think that it would work here like it does there. Nobody knows what you are talking about as usual and yes, I want the process that brought DOUG MARRONE here. And you are aware that the vaunted process that brought him here identified several other candidates ahead of him, right? And that it took intervention for him to be hired? You want to replicate that process?
Ok but that same process almost brought Skip Holtz, Randy Edsall, and Turner Gill here. How those guys doing today anyway? Wait I got it, we'll use the same process but scratch off the first 3 guys on the list and pick the 4th guy who had been building his whole career to be head coach at SU...right?Nobody knows what you are talking about as usual and yes, I want the process that brought DOUG MARRONE here.
You forgot Locksley. We almost had him, too.Ok but that same process almost brought Skip Holtz, Randy Edsall, and Turner Gill here. How those guys doing today anyway?
maybe we should go get an offensive coordinator who played in the nfl who some dismiss as being along for the ride with a more famous offensive head coachNobody knows what you are talking about as usual and yes, I want the process that brought DOUG MARRONE here.
G, I don't want the next guy to be here because he was successful running the offense at Oregon. That's far down the checklist. We should know that here after all we've been through.D, this isn't anything close to how we ended up with Robinson.
Coyle has been here for a full season, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the program, Gross didn't know squat.
Coyle's had time to plan for this, Gross figured he had a year to see how it would unfold, he didn't come in with a plan to replace P that year.
Robinson had been fired twice in the prior four years, Frost has been very successful running the offense at Oregon.
are you aware??What? You are aware Marrone was the head coach here, right?
I guess that's a knock on Marrone but, as with Scooch, nobody knows what you're talking about either. But you amuse yourself so be happy.maybe we should go get an offensive coordinator who played in the nfl who some dismiss as being along for the ride with a more famous offensive head coach
