No, I really don't look at things with a view that it's a snowball effect. I agree with you that it was a perfect storm - for the most part. If two things break different, we have Green & Tucker and who knows who else. They didn't and we have other kids who could be good, too. Nobody knows.
My observation of this kid in particular is that he hasn't really mentioned us much in the last month and the tea leaves are moving in a different direction. I feel much differently about the kid from Ohio. I do have hope there, as long as they don't get played and make sure to tell the kid to make up his mind and sign early. Longer that one goes, it goes the way the other high profile recruitments went this past year.
Again, only my opinion and based on what I see out there publicly.
The snowball started rolling when Brandon Randolph chose the desert over the snowbelt. And that shouldn't have happened at all, frankly.
"What about Syracuse?
Syracuse, Tyler Lydon's just like me and he went to the NBA in two years...
You're a little bit stronger...
Yeah, they think I could be like him. They've had a lot of guys like me.
Absolutely. Have you gone up there since August?
Yeah, I went up there in August for the Elite Camp, so I'm going to go back up there pretty soon.
On an unofficial or official on that one?
Probably unofficial."
Edit:
"You're visiting Duke soon?
Yeah.
What do you know about their program and what do hope to learn on your visit?
Duke recently started recruiting me and they have been my dream school, but, going on this visit, I really want to see how I fit and everything."

That was my original thought as well, but then I thought about Jordan Tucker's recruitment and I got sad again.Well Duke is out. I assume the "Dream School" curse must apply to them as well!
That's the thing, he is kinda the same player as Tucker, who they obviously just took. They take whoever they want, which lately has been a number of guys, we wanted and really needed. Very frustrating as there are lots of great players every year, and yet we still run up against them for the few we want. Tucker, at least for a while, and Swider are both NE kids too, which makes it even more infuriating. Geographically they can grab anyone they want. It's just a visit, no need for a meltdown. Doesn't even have an offer, as far as I know. He said he wants to see how he fits. They may be a dream school, but not the best school for him. We shall see, and have heard that line too many times before. But, can K be a good friend, and leave a couple of our recruits alone. Damn.
If it happens, hopefully it happens early. Because there are so many good players out there, we just don't want to get in a position like with Tucker, where he was all there was left that was decent. Luckily we found what we needed in Europe. That's the thing, he is kinda the same player as Tucker, who they obviously just took. Hope he visits during our game, see us paint Cameron orange again.

Hope he ignores where they were during the post season and where we were.
