I've also felt that it was a Duke/Cuse thing since he narrowed his list to four.

Overreaction Footey. It would be great to get Swider and I really like his game. But he is not a make or break recruit.

Agreed. I think the lure of playing in the ACC is too great an obstacle for Xavier to overcome. I am hoping that our proximity to his home helps us here, but it is no fun going up against Duke. They usually get what they want.

Duke's advantage is that they are his dream school and he was a big Scheyer fan who is his lead recruit there. That said they are after some big targets at forward and will replace guys year after year if they don't produce. Hopefully we sold him on having a better opportunity at SU. I also have to wonder, say Swider called Duke to commit, would they try to delay that in view of who else they are after? Just thinking out loud.

Doubt they'd delay him. They will definitely lose Carter, Duval, Allen, etc., after this year. They have plenty of ships to go around. They definitely take him and recruit over him as needed. They don't need to be picky, just like UK.

I agree with your edit. I don't think they want to have to take his commitment yet.

Great points...i feel like duke has many top priorities for 18 and who knows who their ideal class would include? Hopefully cole likes that we have made him a top priority #1 recruit and the visit he had with our staff and players was so good that he goes with us...its just one of those things where eventually the ball has to bounce our way right?? Gmac gets the big win and everyone is pumped that we sign a deadly sniper from the 3 that can do much more then just shoot. I'm going to remain optimistic in this one!

There is not a lot coming out of the Swider camp after any of these visits. It seems all anyone has heard has been feed back from the the schools point of view. I have a hard time seeing him choosing Xavier over an ACC school and there has been no official to Nova. :noidea:

I was concerned with Villanova for quite a while. Then I heard from someone close to Jay Wright that their staff wasn't feeling all that confident they'd land Swider. We also heard some other buzz that it was a Duke/Syracuse race.

For you to say you'd be concerned if a team emerges, you must have a team in mind. Otherwise, you'd not have a specific reason to be concerned. Not sure why you wouldn't name the team if that's what you are trying to say.

Yeah, but he said "gets in the final mix." Swider has 4 teams in his final 4. If it's Xavier, they are in his final mix.

This kid seems very level headed. I don't know. Maybe Jake is talking about Kentucky or Kansas but he doesn't seem the type. I believe he will choose one of the three teams left standing.

I'll continue to think all 4 teams are in play until they're not. Maybe he will wind scheduling the Nova official. My opinion is we are competing with Duke but my opinion is dubious.

That's not what I was implying. Simply stating, that if a team suddenly appeared outside those 4 I'd be concerned. But if it's Cuse vs Duke, I think we would be happy with that scenario. No guarantees though...
