Class of 2018 SF Cole Swider (RI) Transferring from Villanova to Syracuse

Here is a fact. Green told us the night before he flipped that he was coming to Syracuse. Then, overnight, something changed. No one could have done better than Gmac did. In order for them to have done better, they would have to have gone to Syracuse. And that at the end of the day, wasn't going to happen.

BOOO! This is really the big visit for his decision IMO. He's been there unofficially and that got him an offer. Then SU for an official where we gave him our best pitch and things went very well for both sides. You know K will be putting it all out there on this visit to try and close. I hope one of our coaches texts Cole to remind him that Lydon just went 24th and he came into SU ranked in the 70's.

Seems like Swider wants to get this over with and commit in the near future. He released a Top 4, quickly scheduled visits and is getting them in early. Would he commit to Duke before Reddish or Williamson announce their decisions? I think I read Duke is also heavily involved with Romeo Langford, another 5 star 2018 wing. Would Duke pull offers from any of those 3 to get a commitment from Swider? I seem to get burned when I rely on logic in these threads but I like our chances.

I love the optimism and the logic. However, logic and teenagers with $$ in their eyes don't always mix well...

Just remember that a verbal is just a verbal whether it is real or silent. Nothing goes on paper until the fall so recruiting is truly never over until then. Look at TB. We kind of lucked out there.

No need to panic. He will get his officials done, and pick the best spot for him. We lucked out on Tucker, in a good way, and my gut tells me we luck in on Cole. If that makes sense.

I think Lydon being drafted in the first round really helps Swider see his path here. He has already compared himself to Lydon, and I would say Swider looks better at this point that Lydon did. If Swider is not forced to play 5 on defense and we have a good inside threat in the post, Swider will thrive at Cuse.
