There's only been on Coach in the last 35 years

You don't want him to be the SU FB HC because of an analogy!???

I make no bones that SS lost me after the ISIS PC after the UL game. A HC never should behave like that ever. I like SS he seems like a good person but our coaching staff in the ACC is bottom third. We as SU FB fans have to stop being concerned with being a stepping stone job and embrace that and get the best coach we can. Who if they turned us around would move on.

I agree with you about his comments during that PC. I like HCSS, so I was able to let it go. I didn't realize that the comment you mention came after the Louisville game. If it did I just didn't think about it I guess. The Louisville game was the game T-Hunt broke his leg, and then HCSS made the switch at OC. HCSS said during camp a year ago that he liked the back-up QBs, but that he hoped he wouldn't see them play during the 2014 season. When T-Hunt went down I think he knew what the team was up against, and he flipped his lid in the PC. Then he switched OCs for a lot of reasons, but one reason had to be that Lester was a former QB and he would be able to work with the really young and inexperienced QBs.

That's the way I see it, but I can understand why someone would see it differently. If I was leaning in a direction against a coach and he flipped his lid like that I might turn against him too. I just like the guy, and I hope he works out. I think he can do it!

Everyone knows you hate the guy. You have been talking about it for two years + now. The whole board knows it. That's why you're getting so many responses

No I don't, and it's obvious.

He made one huge mistake and it's cost this program. And I was right about how awful that guy was,

Doesn't mean I hate the guy, I've been a fan since he joined the program.

If you can't discern a legit critique from hate, that's on you.

Not that I would expect someone with your obvious ability to reason to do so.

1991...the last time we were 3-0. A lot of What losses early in those 22 seasons.
I was 7 turning 8
I am now 31 turning 32

My kids are turning 3 and 2 ... I hope they never have to wait over 20 years for a 3-0 start

I'd say losing by 3 TDs to NC State was a What loss, but that's just me but I suppose simply losing to them wouldn't be.

Cheers,
Neil

Come on. It was raining. (small NE school, no alumni, don't travel...insert rain with all the other excuses)

I said this last year I wanted Marshall HC Doc Holiday. He is who Pitt should have hired. He can recruit FL and WPA. The guy would use us as a springboard. I also liked Lincoln Riley the OC from ECU who went to Oklahoma. I want an up and comer who will use us. Then you can hire somebody for stability if the inroads have been established. We hired SS for stability and while I like the person I didn't like the hire at the time and nothing has changed my opinion. We still struggle offensively and gamble on defense and hope to get stops to win. I like Dungey and I have given SS credit for increasing team speed but our offense is still a work in progress that hopefully is on the uptick. Hunt doesn't make those passes that Dungey did so while that kid's injury sucked it definitely gave the passing a game a boast from Dungey.

Consistently depressing. After a win you come with this!? ...

Beat a team I wasn't expecting and I will be more optimistic. Who didn't have the team beating URI and Wake Forest? You want me to change my tune when nothing has been done to show it should change. I had the team beating URI, WF, CMU, USF, and BC.

You're style of fandom must be exhausting.

No actually its not I enjoy the sport. I don't pretend things are better than they actually are. If I thought this staff was the real deal I would say so.

No. There's long term success (is Shafer the guy?) and there's week to week fandom (hoping for the best, enjoying 2-0, seeing young talent coached well, etc). I'm not surprised - you gave up on the staff before the season. It's hard to see anything positive through that lens. AND that's what I think would be exhausting. To each his own.

I enjoy the game. I wish for the day our game actually gets discussed on College Gameday. I want to win and will support the staff and team, but that doesn't mean I can't say what I feel about the staff.

We lost to a bad Miami-OH team under Gerg too! .
I went to that away game. I chose it because I knew they would win and I was sicking to traveling far only to watch them lose. That was bad.

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth. You're not "supporting" the staff. People can be critical of the staff and support them. I'm not sure you understand that distinction as well as you think you do.

Here's an example for you:

I think the staff should let Dungey sling it a bit more. They might be hurting him by not being more aggressive. But I think that we won this game vs Wake with a true freshman bodes well for our future. The staff did a nice job.

Not "I wanted someone else as HC" and the coach lost me for something he said once or "yeah that was a game we should gave won, no optimism"...

Unless I am the AD and I am not my opinion doesn't matter. That doesn't mean I want the team to lose. I root for the laundry more than I root for the coaching staff. SS wouldn't be the HC if I had my druthers. I don't have my way so I want the team to win and be 100% wrong. You speak like because I am not a fan of SS as HC means I have to root against SU. I will not root against SU and will just deal with the reality that SS is getting atleast this year to show that I am wrong.

If we go 8-4 or 9-3 which is what I want you think I will be upset if its SS as coach? The answer is no but don't expect my opinion to change until I see it on the field.

I don't believe you'll give the staff credit even if they get to 8 wins. I'm "Missouri" on your fandom. You haven't shown me anything.

You think we will be competitive against FSU down there? You think we will be competitive with LSU? I really hope you are right. But I don't think we are there yet.
Look I don't know but we were competitive with them last year with our 4th string QB. I doubt they are better this year.

Yep. FSU looks beatable this year. Still will be really low odds - but they have taken step back.

It's not this staff's fault that we aren't discussed on game day. Here is your question, do you think that recruiting is heading in the right direction under this staff? Do you think the defense is heading in the right direction under this staff? Do you think that the offense is heading in the right direction under this staff? My answer is yes to the first two and we will see on the 3rd. no coach or scheme can make up for the lack of talent we had last year. 3 qb's go down. Our speed guys out. It's easy to look creative when you have the players.

Yeah, first losses to FSU (11-2), OSU (8-3-1), BC (9-3), OU (6-6), ECU (9-3), UNC (10-2), NCST (6-5), UT (13-0), UM (10-2), Cinci (7-5), GT (8-5), BYU (5-7), Lville (9-4), Purdue (7-5).

Not a whole lot to be embarrassed about there.

First losses is not necessarily the criteria fo

P lost to some very good teams. You're right.

But I said momentum-killing losses. I didn't say first losses.
