Yes Roberson commits!!!!

In the 6 games that nj.com has recorded this particular statistic, Tyler has averaged 4.5 blocks per game. Considering he is asked to play against the other team's tallest or best post-up player and also asked to be the focal point of their defensive rebounding, I think that's amazing.

Between Rak, Grant, Kieta, and now Roberson showing he can block shots then throw in Fair being athletic and a year more experience with the zone, wow. I have a feeling we'll have no problem blocking any shots and protecting the rim/controlling the paint next year.

RC has a big trip in an event out in Ohio this weekend. Should be some good national exposure for them.
Flying To the Hoop Invitational takes place 10 minutes from where I live... unfortunately I am out of town this weekend, I would have loved to attend a couple of games. Anyone on this board attending?

"Malachi Richardson hit a 10-foot jumper with eight seconds left to give Roselle Catholic, No. 5 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, a 69-67 victory over Plainfield in Plainfield. Roselle Catholic trailed by as many as 19 points in the third quarter before scoring 44 points in the second half. Tyler Roberson had 25 points and 17 rebounds to go with five blocks in the win, and Hakim Saintil had 20."

The Beast gives out that work once again jaydamn.png

Wow 25 points 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. What are the chances Grant doesn't blow up next year and we have Roberson, McCullough, Grant rotating around the back line around Coleman and Christmas. Then if Johnson can play the 2 guard along with Gbinije. Talk about long crazy athletes all over the floor.

100% agree, the length and athleticism is even better coming in next two years. Almost as if we needed an Ennis to keep us "grounded". That, and he's a point guard. ;)

The coaches are looking at BJ to play 2-3 next year. It's going to be a nice problem to have.

Probably have a better chance witnessing a unicorn chit a rainbow.

"Tyler Roberson hit a 3-pointer with less than a minute remaining in overtime to give No. 5 Roselle Catholic a 57-56 victory over Elizabeth in Roselle. Roberson scored 27 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in the game. Malachi Richardson had five points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals, and Hakim Saintil had 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals."

Just another day in the office for The Beastwinning.gif

Elizabeth actually beat RC a few weeks ago, so it's good to see Tyler and the boys get some payback. Bishop Kearney plays Elizabeth next month as well.

Francis, where's the triple like button?
27 points, this when the entire team had 57.
20 boards is out of control.
Sick, sick beast.

The best thing about his production is that it's coming against good quality comp as well. Gives you more reason to be excited about him.

Roberson puts up huge numbers :D
We are so stacked at forward going forward.

"Tyler Roberson finished with 19 points, 21 rebounds and five blocks to lead Roselle Catholic, No. 5 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, to a 62-46 victory against Union in Union. Malachi Richardson recorded 12 points, five rebounds and five assists for Roselle Catholic, and Hakim Saintil added 11 points and eight assists. 21 freaking rebounds? Holyshit
It gets better. Last three games.
1/22 Roselle Catholic (69) at Plainfield (67) 9 0 6 17 0 1 5 25
1/24 Elizabeth (56) at Roselle Catholic (57) 9 2 3 20 2 1 5 27
1/29 Roselle Catholic (62) at Union (46) 6 1 4 21 1 3 5 19

* Bolded and fonted loudly (clearly two made up words by dictionary of tee) are rebounds, blocks, points respectively.
Font size is how he must look to the opposition.

Yup, not only that, somewhere one of his AAU coaches said he's the best rebounder in the state.

Really different about this guy is his demeanor. Friend of a friend knows him, sees him from time to time, an older woman. Says something similar to: Tyler, we love him. Such a nice guy; shy but a really good guy. It's probably why he's nervous on interviews.

But man when I saw him play once he got going, just a bad, bad man. Not dirty, just tough as hell. He took a lot of contact rebounding and going to the hole, dribble penetration and low post play. He went up against a guy of the same height and build who was very physically assertive and after a while, ate the other team and that guy up. Sure I'm biased, but there was no denying how great he was compared to his peers. He definitely stood out.

First half when they were down, the people behind me (not RC fans, supporting another team in the tournament) were laughing as to how hard he was fouled on no call after no call. Sound familiar? This year with these refs, we could use another guy that absorbs contact. But hey, Big East play is always rough. Be prepared in the next few years, OSU thugs.

wow.. having a guy like grant playing with a guy like Roberson.. talk about getting after it. It makes you wonder. Is Grant good enough to play the 5 at times? Where we could be an offensive machine while maintaining defensive dominance? Hence being able to put your best five on the floor and play zone? Just crazy thoughts I guess but the athleticism and rebounding ability with that lineup... on top of that having your five be able to slam it home off the bounce or spot up from three or post up.

It's a nice thought, one that I would like to see as an experiment in the preseason. Unfortunately I don't think JB would ever do anything like this.

It sure would be nice to have MCW back , then JB would have a great shot at a National Championship . That team would be like the gators a few years ago . Back too back Baby !!!! A really deep team . I would like to see how JB reacts to all that talent . You could even think to kentucky team in 96 to the Cuse in 14 . ACC hear we come !!!

In a tight game against 15-5 Linden, Roberson and company get the one point win and improve their record to 14-4.
Notables:
Beast 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 blocks
Gist 12 points, 7 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds
Malachi 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
Saintil 8 points, 5 steals, 6 assists, 4 rebounds
