    Biggest needs

Offensive line. Not sure if weatherspoon can hold off ACC edge rushers. Thought he did play well but someone mentioned diggs seemed to be holding back. Defensive line. One of each would be nice. It will also be interesting to see what portal movement happens out of the program.

    Very excited

I think it’s a combination of things we need to be successful- recruitment, player development, offensive/defensive identity, etc. In short building a program. Not that Dino didn’t at all- he created a great overall program culture where players graduated and were by and large good role...

    Lower Canada

Fellow north country (lowville). I usually tell people I’m from north of the wall. That seems to best explain it.

    Hafley leaving BC for NFL

They need to hire Matt Patricia. Home run for us.
  5. RICuse44

I bailed early but a guy that brought it was Jobity

I think there are some good pieces here but a lot of room for improvement. Caleb needs a better motor. Wax needs to cut out the dumb penalties. Interior d line is the biggest question mark in my opinion. Should be fine with the edge- Thompson could be an edge guy too. I’m not sure where they...

Truth be told...a week ago tonight, I didn't

This is too funny. I read this in a children’s zen book. And reference it often. Sometimes good luck and bad luck is all mixed up
  7. RICuse44

So if you are re-starting our offense

First and foremost I want an offensive identity. Until the last 4 games this year we never really had that- at least for the past couple of years. The offense consisted of halfback dives into the middle of the defense, qb keeping on rpo, qb making an athletic play, or airing it out along the...

    Dan Mullen

    I’m glad I wasn’t the only one
  9. RICuse44

    Kudos to Beck

I saw a lot more motion and misdirection today. Pop passes and counters. Loved it. He did a great job of pulling an Apollo 13 and figuring out what they had that still worked
  10. RICuse44

    Randoms

I think it was a built in read based on what chase Simmons (#30) did. He engages the up man to start blocking him and never watches the punter
  11. RICuse44

    Tony White

Here is my shot at it- 1. He’s not Al Golden who has a .500 record as a head coach. Some of that is time at temple but his Miami record is not great and they have talent in their backyard. 2. He’s been at cuse so he knows the major drawbacks. 3. He’s installed and added on to a system on defense...

    Who is QB1 v Pitt

And lequint. Gets price on the field. Villari and Donovan can throw too. Or put one of the bigger backs in w lequint. Anything that gives the offense a chance. As is they do not have one with a hobbled/unhobbled cdrw
  13. RICuse44

    Who is QB1 v Pitt

I’d have mcphail start and play lequint and villari in the wildcat

    BC Predictions...

I think Ham tech has a better chance of winning three in a row this weekend! I hope you are right
  15. RICuse44

So when we end up with 8 wins

I agree something is clearly off about this team. Not sure what it is but it’s red and rotten not green and growing. IMO the outcomes will not change until it’s fixed. And I think the only way to do it is to get rid of Dino.

    Post game film watch

Maybe it’s semantics? Team versus individual position. It could be they watch film by position group.

    Flag Football

For the past 20 years Qb would be devito RB lequint Center Mackey For the 4 wideouts would be- Lemon, erv, Etta tawo, salt badger

    Snap Counts

They had run 45 offensive plays at some point late in the second quarter.

    PFF grades

I don’t think wax has been very effective all year. Personally I would rather see him move from the middle and back outside.
  20. RICuse44

    Oline

I’ve like Bradford this year also but he was not ok in the first quarter. I think it got a little better when ellis went in which shows you how bad it was
  21. RICuse44

    PFF rankings

My eyes and these grades tell me we should run the ball more.
  22. RICuse44

Shrader doesn't throw well enough to beat very good teams

Shrader is who he is. Good at running. Really good at play action under center with bootlegs. Not good in an air raid situation. Would like to see him getting a little more under center and running the ball w LA to set up bootlegs and play action passes going forward.
  23. RICuse44

    I’m calling bulldinky.

Yep he launches w the crown of his helmet from the side. If that’s not targeting I don’t know what is. A good hit I guess as Dabo said

    What I learned today

You move far enough upstate and that’s just the style. It never goes away. There were mullets and mustaches in my high school in lowville in the mid 90s. It was awesome.

    2ND STRING??

Josh played a lot against BC also if I remember correct. I like the way he snaps- lasers it back.

Former Players, Staff Reveal Troubling Allegations of Toxic Culture Under P.J. Fleck

Well in all fairness didn’t Clemson hire a wide receivers coach at one point? That worked out.

DL Jatius Geer transferring to South Carolina

In all fairness to JT who isn’t?
  31. RICuse44

QB Justin Lamson transferring to Stanford

Sure that’s an exception. But that’s a starter making a parallel move. The factories have all of these kids on the 2 deep in football that will be looking for playing time.
  32. RICuse44

QB Justin Lamson transferring to Stanford

100% on this. Happening at every school. We just need to be better finding the kids at those schools. These kids still above all the nil craziness want playing time more than anything else.
  33. RICuse44

DL Jatius Geer transferring to South Carolina

I really like Bailey. He will be making some big time plays this fall.
  34. RICuse44

DB Ja'Had Carter transferring to Ohio State

Simmons is a lot better than people give him credit for. Both he and jahad had a monster game against Clemson. He doesn’t make big hits but is very reliable. He’s like the Josh illoa of the defense. Played well when he was in but everyone wants to talk about who is going to come in and take...

OT: Best Defensive Lineup of All-Time

Depends on what type of a team you are playing. LT is an edge as is Derrick Thomas. A good tight end would burn them. So I think I would rather have someone like Derrick brooks at LB

    Ed Cooley to Georgetown

    Ed Cooley to Georgetown

He was getting about 4 million a year at PC so not exactly chump change. I wonder how much it really is after all the endorsements, etc.
  42. RICuse44

    2023 Roster Is Up

He was last year. He’s the one person on defense that we have no one else quite like.

    New Cornerbacks Coach: Travis Fisher

Any specific intel or based on previous track record? I respect your opinion and you are usually spot on w these things.

    2023 Spring Practice

In other words a college lifestyle will undo a lot of nutrition… although I would think many of these players are a little more dialed in. But still it’s 18-23 year old guys we are talking about
  45. RICuse44

    Minnesota hiring Nick Monroe

Agree. Sure you could have made Monroe co-dc but does that assure long comes? Ideally Rocky coaches another 3-5 years. Gives him a chance to bring in at least one of “his guys” and cement the 3-3-5 into the cuse dna. I would sign up for that rather than take a flyer on Monroe as a new dc in a...

    OT-MNF Damar Hamlin emergency

Yes. In his case it was a shot to the chest. Senior and one of 4 captains. Hopefully Hamlin has a better outcome. They were doing cpr right away which prevents the anoxic brain injury until you can get additional care. It’s so random and shocking. If you have a chance learn cpr. You never know...

what happens when the merry-go-round stops

Also will create a lot of animosity on teams. Could you imagine making nothing stuck behind someone who has a 1 million NIL deal? Or if the kid gets hurt? There is a lot of money flowing around but for comparison the nfl salary cap right now is 208 million. I can’t see any college team getting...

SU new DC From current staff or outside?

    1. Runs a 4-3 2. Pro coach 3. Bombing right now as a co-OC
  49. RICuse44

SU new DC From current staff or outside?

I would rather stay w a 3-3-5. I felt like it gave the defense identity. If someone from within can do it great. If not then need to scour the earth looking for them.
