Awful decision by the NFL. If the Seahawks win in the afternoon, the Lions are eliminated and have zero to play for against the Packers. Should have been Titans-Jaguars in that time slot or at the very least teams that are only playing for home field/seeding. The whole thing reeks of Packers favoritism.

Awful but predictable. A red hot packers team led by AR is a much better draw in the postseason than either the lions or the seahawks. All about those $$$.

Yep total WWF move.

I’ve seen little league games play at same time for this type of reason but pretty obvious they want one of their stars in the playoffs.

And for that reason I don’t feel bad hoping he gets knocked out of the game on the first drive.

Bucs vs Packers for the NFC Championship. hmmm

If the goal was only the best competition instead of tv, they would do what MLB does and start all the games at the same time on the last weekend.
that game only matters to those 2 teams for the most part.

Was waiting for the mouth breathers to bring this crap up
what really makes it complete trash is the majority of politicians who tweet this trash 100% know the truth that it's bs.

they wont be playing today.. I suppose they could play it tomorrow.. Do they push the whole playoffs back a week to try and fit this in? Maybe they play this week and then decide. I mean if the bills win and KC loses and Cinci loses the game doesnt matter for the most part. Would they even move the playoffs with all the things that have to be moved to do it?

And his condition might not be really known for a good amount of time to factor that in.

I don't think there's any shot playoffs get pushed back and I doubt the game is completed. I'd have to imagine it will end up going down as either a tie or a Bills forfeit. Honestly, if it comes down to a forfeit, I don't even care, there are bigger things at stake than playoff seeding.

Take the L. Move on. Bills weren’t winning that game anyway. There are more important things

if your reg business had 100s of millions of dollars on a contract decision and someone dies do you just say skip it?

its a game and its business.

Im fine with the decision to cancel the game but its still a decision thats a big deal to thousands of other people. not playing it also effects seeding and playoffs and drafts that could change things 5-10 yrs down the road for teams..

Yeah the "game doesn't matter" is true in the moment but a near billion dollar business...it isn't PC at the moment to say but they have to find a way to get games in. I would ditch the bye week before the Super Bowl but I think they will say its a tie which impacts a few teams in the AFC.

Don't see either team being right for the rest of the season and don't see the Bills playing until something more firm comes out about the player.

all that matters is when can the players get in the right mind to play again. If they cant then call it a season and let other teams get in the playoffs but I dont think they want to do that either.. Its a hard thing to deal with when its anyone you know. player/opp/family who ever it is.

Not sure why the NFL is being slammed for their response.

They had procedures in place that likely saved his life within the first 5 minutes of the injury.

They immediately evacuated him and shut down the highway with police escort.

They followed delay of game protocol then made the correct decision to postpone.

How could they have done better? Don’t understand the social media attacks.

Remember Goodell did not cancel any games during Covid. They will play this even if it screws either team.

I agree. I think they did it right. If they said they canceled the game any earlier then you have 80,000 people clogging up the highway trying to get home. By the looks of it the players were already gone before the NFL announced the postponement.

I think the criticism is about the 're-start' that it appears that the teams shut down. Buck mentioned 4 times, that the teams were going to warm up for 5 minutes, and then re-start the game. Cameras showed Burrow throwing, and Diggs rallying the troops.

Then, McDermott and Taylor were shown talking on the sideline, after which McDermott motioned/pointed to the locker room. If there was no 5-minute re-start, what were McDermott and Taylor talking about?

Troy Vincent (same guy who broke a teammate's leg during a non-contact drill, to prove a point) carrying water for the NFL is pathetic.

Correct. This is a business, and nothing more. It's all about the bottom line for Goodell and his cronies.
