Adam Weitsman NIL with current SU players

Now you’re just putting words in my mouth... I never once said his actions were purely out of selfishness, in fact I’ve said the opposite nearly every message. Despite that though, you continue to make my argument for me, perhaps if you took a deep breath and read your messages you would see that you’re largely arguing with yourself…

You want to hero worship this guy and think he’s doing this purely out of selflessness, then that’s your opinion and you’re free to express it just like I’m free to express mine. There is evidence to support both sides and so long as none of us are in Adams head, we cannot really understand his true intentions.
I can, not just my opinion, firsthand experience.

It's very nice to see that Mr. Weitsman really does give a scrap about SU. sports.

I feel like the Weitsman hate is typical of Syracuse fans who love to bring down the area and community. They’re used to so much negativity. They expect the successful guys like Adam to leave, not stay and try to support the community. It’s OK to have nice things guys. Reminds me of the therapy scene from Good Will Hunting. “It’s not your fault!”
Why is it that so many in CNY are half empty types

I’m pretty sure he knows and has a relationship with everyone he’s brought to games. And by doing so, he brings pub to the team. How many times do announcers talk about who’s at the game? They talk more about the guests than they do Adam.
I just got back from the Bulls game today. Star power at the game. It brings attention. It was Adam does it puts SU on the map

He's got over 19 million followers on Instagram. 230,000 people have already liked a photo he posted of him and Hauser and it's less than 24 hours since he posted it. He's getting us attention from people who otherwise would not pay us any attention, paying for NIL, etc.
Its huge. Social media is everything to the kids we recruit.

not exactly breaking news. And posting that just ends up being ultimately a positive for the guy, I mean did you read it? I mean really how many "criminals" respond that way by taking responsibility? Let alone follow through on a pledge from the experience of it all? Dudes done exactly as he said he would for the community, etc.
What strikes me is his owing up to his crime. I dealt with convicted felons for 30 years. I don’t recall one of them saying they were guilty of their crime. It was always someone else to blame, or the justice system was rigged against them. And not many ( none ) said they were going to do good for society when they got released. A lot of them were recidivists. he walked the talk

As I said in another post, its air time filler when it's Cole Hauser instead of talking about the snow or Dino BBQ, and I say this with all due respect to AW, because I'm a southern tier guy and have had classmates that have worked with him and I know he gives back. I'm not knocking the guy, at all.

My personal druthers would be to bring in NBA or ex NBA guys that can meet with the team (if that's allowed; I'm not sure what's kosher or not).

Magic, the up in smoke guys, KG, Paul Pierce (who would absolutely come), Scottie Pippen (would absolutely come), Vinsanity. I wonder if AW would have the pull to get an NBA pre-season game at the Dome, try to do the Knicks vs the Sixers. Knicks vs Celtics.

Again, not knocking it. I just don't think the Cole Hausers of the world (btw, I own all the Cole Hauser stock) really move the needle. I want the players to get photos of NBA or ex NBA superstars and post to socials and facetime their friends while they are there with them.

And your point is?
It would be funny if he decided not to do it because of the negative posts here.

The name of the link wasn’t actually the title of article. The link to was negative information, so I guess it would also be a negative post. It was meta. ;)

That’s what they did when Giannis was here with his brother. He went in the locker room, spoke with the team, and took some pics which went on social media. Hauser also spoke with the team in the lockeroom. Of course from a bball standpoint it doesn’t have the same impact as Giannis and his brother.

It was misleading, stupid, and did nothing to advance the conversation. But if you got a kick out of it, good for you.

BTW, I want to be clear, I'm not complaining that the celebs come and I think its awesome they meet the team.

Just to be VERY clear. I am NOT looking a gift horse in the mouth, here.

I didn’t take your post that way at all.

I think people are forgetting that this is "Murica, and we can both criticize a man for not spending his money the way we want and then attack him for his intentions. It's in the Constitution, you can check it. I haven't, but I believe it is one of the amements or something.

It’s impressive how rapidly cuse nation’s been scrapping together NIL opportunities for SU athletes over the past 2 years.

If we ever got Rochester and Buffalo engaged and growing as SU fan territories we’d be cooking.

More money in CNY than people think

One other thing I'd note, this is all still relatively new. For our place within the college ecosystem, I'd actually say Cuse has done a decent job and has serious upside.

It won't be perfect because that's not how these things work. Going to be incremental improvements and needs some patience.

I feel like we’re probably asking too much of one person to do. At the end of the day I think we have to keep in mind that he is just one guy, who seems to be doing what he can.

I’m grateful for what Adam does do and don’t feel the need to look at what he doesn’t do. This is a long game and it seems hes committed for the ride and at a high level and it’s out of his love for the Syracuse and the community.

The people Adam brings to the games, he seems to have an existing relationship with them.
Cole Hauser was noted as a friend by Adam, by bringing him to a game he gets to share one of his biggest loves with this person, give them an experience that most of these people (celebrities) note they enjoyed having, while simultaneously bringing press to our team. The players in return get something special they wouldn’t otherwise experience also.

I just think saying Adam should bring this person or that person is a little selfish and it assumes that Adam has ties or friendships with all these hall of fame athletes or whoever. Like I said he seems to be playing the long game and who’s to say the list of people he’ll bring in 5 years time?

AW efforts help, in keeping us relevant. Cole Hauser doesn’t move the needle, but what’s this needle anyway? A few years ago it didn’t even exist. I don’t think Cole Hauser is supposed to move a needle.

We weren’t in that lockeroom, who knows how the players felt, but it’s very possible they were appreciative.
