Point of playing vs. live competition. Shrader's first drive, Dino started him on his own 8, almost like he was trying to sabotage the kid - "See, I gave him the rest of the 2nd quarter ..."
Next drive, too, we started very deep with Shrader. Only on his 3rd drive did he start to get up to game speed and put it together. Players have to play live competition to really get better.
After Tommy's 4Q fumble, not putting Shrader in to at least see if he could make something happen tells me that Dino is married to Tommy, and isn't even going to pull him when he messes up. That's BS.
That is no way to coach a football team. Maybe there's a reason that 20 guys left the program last year, aside from COVID.
