It's probably semantics. If you're a recruit and an elderly man walks into your living room, it doesn't take too much brain power to realize that this is a year to year proposition committing to Syracuse. You are committing to Red/Gerry if they are quietly promoting those two on these recruiting trips.

Well -- and this is just speaking to how things went down with the Wisc situation, not saying it would/should be the same here -- Gard in all likelihood wouldn't have had a chance at the job if Ryan had done it "by the book" - and look where the Wisc program is now

Gard is okay. Johnny Davis is a NPoY candidate.

Wisconsin had a solid foundation and Bo did it exactly why you said.
To force Gard into that spot.

If JB went to Wildhack and wanted GMac to be his replacement they can’t jump Red.

Thus its not good for us.
Plus RF has nailed why an internal replacement is just a continuation of the status quo.

I agree, but that is exactly what Ryan did to make sure his guy got a look at the job.

He had a good first season and they never had a chance to look for anyone else.

This is what I have long believed what JB would do.
