Louisville Game Thread...

We are horrible against dual threat QBs which is compounded by our secondary being decimated. So takeaway your 1st and 2nd team defensive backfield, your starting QB who is the best player on the team and its heart and soul. Takeaway your starting TB toss in a torrential rainstorm against the best running QB since Mike Vick and you get destroyed.
Do you think Dino wishes he would have kicked the FG against FSU?
I don't know about Dino, but I did at the time and I did at the end of the game. And I do now.

If our players are so fragile, just play them in winnable games. My goodness, do we only recruit bubble boys?.. I feel embarrassed rooting for a team that I'm apparently in better shape and tougher than at the age of 33.

Hey coach, you lose your best safety's and your 2 best LB are playing hurt and you have no backups anywhere, you should be able to coach it up.. the coach put the kids in the right spot on all 3 drives and they messed it up.. our SR lb blows the coverage after the TO are UL punts.

That would be 100% true if we didn't all see that disaster last week. We had a 17 pt lead at home against a team that we should be on par with and got blown out in a must win game, 40-5 in the second half. That can't be sugar coated. That really was as bad as anything we have seen in the past 20 years. 40-5 in one half against Wake Forrest?

11 for 25 and 2 picks and a ton of missed open guys. Who do you blame for our backup QB situation?

Yep...

Dino would take exception to that. We have limited to no depth last guy got fired for good reason.

Fargin’ idiots talking about quit and effort. The team is wrecked

I ask sincerely, is that a coaching issue, talent issue, conditioning issue? WF was down some players last week, BC lost their qb, etc

Program needs to be tougher and smarter.

I have to believe we are banged up worse than we are hearing. I can’t explain how our d looked so good for so long and then just caved in last week. It’s injuries and depth IMO

Come on. We can barely fill out a two deep with ACC quality players when we’re totally healthy. Shafer destroyed our depth. This is football, name one team that is at game 11 without significant attrition.

We have zero depth. Thank Shafer for that.
Do we thank Shafer for the QB we have that is the whole team? He is gone. For two years now. We can't keep blaming him. Guys could have been coached up and clearly they haven't been. Back to back 4-8's, is hard to stomach. I think we are on the right track. But to finish the way we are finishing, is distressing to say the least.

Hoop game is at 7? I can get in 4 Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes by then and catch up with the new season.

This football season has officially run its course for me.

Well, they scored on two or three plays to start the game. Our offense had nothing to do with that.

Sure but your post was about blowing the lead and not converting on any level didn’t help us there

Last guy gave us the qb who is basically the entire offense ironically enough

We're not there depth wise, and we play tough opponents weekly.

How is JB going to “coach up” this years hoop team to be an ACC contender? Talent and depth matters. Babers has had 1.5 full recruiting cycles.

With the up tempo offense, our guys end up playing the equivalent of about 15 games. And when you don’t have depth you wear out at the end of seasons especially with injuries.
What !?!?

What does the up temp offense have to do with the defense being bad? They don't play any more plays than any other defense that plays the same teams we do. We only played 2 up tempo offenses all year. Having 3 of our 4 starting defensive backs and 3 defensive ends out is what is killing us.

There are only really 2 injuries on offense and they have absolutely nothing to do with how fast our offense goes.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I responded to you responding to someone else that our offense was to blame for the defensive performance. I said they scored in a couple of plays before our offense took the field. Which is true. I'm not sure what you are referring to.
