We didn't even make his final 8 and he committed to Kentucky (10/23), so interest in our offer was likely slim: Syracuse Basketball: 5-star PG Boogie Fland, who held SU offer, has top 8

Perhaps we'll get a second swing with Calipari going to Arkansas??

He's the type of recruit we should be landing, especially since we've needed a point guard for years.

After watching freshman PG’s in the tournament the past couples seasons I’d rather have a portal player.

Agreed on this. Only caveat is if we are unable to land a capable portal guard then there is nothing to fall back on. Its risky

Can't have it both ways. Top recruits won't come here if they see a portal guy in the mix, and a portal guy won't come here if they see a good recruit in the mix
