ok I was obviously joking around on another post. If Pitino is cleared and for now it doesn’t seem like anything more is happening with the FBI why not have him as an assistant? Seems like Zonas coach and Pearl at Auburn haven’t gotten in trouble and they were also named in the FBI. Now I would probably bet that doesn’t happen at Syracuse however you can’t deny Pitinos experience

If I"m not mistaken Red had Kentucky as a finalist during his recruiting, so they go way back. Pitino had just taken the job when he was a senior and they weren't allowed on TV. They got Mashburn out of NYC that same class.

if anything, jb is more untouchable now than knight was back then. just putting it out there

Boeheim is a loyal guy. Despite what you think about Rick, Boeheim is the only coach who said something positive on Rick’s behalf after the scandal broke. I respect that a lot.

Just remember that Rick was JB's first assistant. He also introduced JB to Juli.
And as someone said, JB's loyalty to those that have been an important part of his life is strong.
