Looks like they have humped the shark and are looking for any way they can dump shark man without paying him $12m.

My guess is he is gone by Thanksgiving.

That would make most likely UT UF and A&M looking for head coaches in SEC

Matt Campbell is going to be the Tom Herman of this coaching cycle.

Also Florida is pathetic if they fire McElwain after 3 years. Winning 2 division titles and getting no benefit of the doubt is crazy.

Babers would be stupid if he took that job.

Dino’s offense makes so much sense for fun and gun redux. We r gonna have to deal w it every year.

Maybe Addazio goes back to Florida. He’s a former HC there

Babers wouldn't be the guy for either school, imo. Not even really close yet.

Think about it, A&M at 5-3, livid over those results, is going to want a replacement from Syracuse with a worse record? No way.

Florida, same type of deal. 2/3 years they have an SEC East title, the first year that coach stumbles, they're going to replace him with a guy who currently has a losing record as a P5-HC?

I just don't see it. Definitely not from those schools. Big boosters would go nuts.

This is all a good thing, because it makes us very lucky.

So basically, we’re lucky that their fanbase is insane and stupid.

Yeah great list there buddy, way to go out on a limb.

These schools are going to look at guys like Chip Kelly

Matt Campbell is also in the similar position as Baber’s probably better. Campbell is coaching at big state U in a P5 conference, reasonable shot at the playoff and they’ll give him the keys to the city there. He’d be crazy to leave.

That's my initial impression also. Just have a hard time seeing a fanbase like Florida very happy hiring a coach with a losing Power 5 record regardless if things are going in the right direction.

I’d be shocked if he made it that long. Prior to the game, news came out it was supposed to happy this Monday, win or lose. The university lawyers are looking to see if they can fire him for cause saying he fabricated death threat stories. Thus, they get out of the buyout

Matt Campbell doing it in year 2 should strike while the iron is hot. Take that big SEC payday and huge buyout money. If it works out great, if not get paid, and start over like Rich Rod. Nothing lost.

My wife and most of her family with the exception of her sister (FSU) are Gator fans. It would pain me to see Babers go there and have to watch him. And yes, the thought crossed my mind yesterday after reports of McElwain and UF trying to part ways.

As for firing him after three years, I agree to an extent based on his success. However he has had a REALLY hard time at managing the players and disciplining them. I know that it's hard to be on top of these kids all of the time and that they have to take some accountability, but this has been a huge problem for him. I believe like 9 players, many of them starters, have been suspended all year this season. The same happened last season with a smaller number of players for stupid stuff related to credit card fraud and scholarship fraud ( I do not know a ton about these things, so perhaps someone can shed light on this deeper). I believe that, together with the offense being in the tank for years (before him even), and not being able to develop a QB, the pressure of the job to win as well is too much for him to over come at this point.

Another thing on all of this... sure the money for these big schools is great. But at what point will the pressure to win at these programs start to make these jobs less attractive? Especially in the SEC where Alabama is cleaning house in recruiting year after year. Why in the hell would anyone want to take a job at an SEC school like UF or UT with the expectations constantly being as high as they are while also having to deal with Alabama, Georgia, and LSU every year in order to meet expectations.

It was a big surprise that he took the ISU job in the first place. Looked as if he wanted some stability in a P5 and he is a Midwest guy. Only gets $1.5 million, but I bet he uses the situation to get a big bump.

Really?

Now that Scott Frost has started to prove himself as a head coach, it's only a matter of time before Nebraska comes calling.

Campbell’s buyout is $9.4M if he leaves after the season. It will be interesting to see what the market is.

Florida players getting in trouble is a new thing ? Who knew

Batsh&t crazy speculation is a huge chunk of these guys’ job responsibilities now.
At least the guys who need some way (other than writing) to stand out from the crowd.

You say crazy things enough, eventually you’ll be right.

Babers offensive scheme is intriguing. Florida been having trouble on offense since Meyer left but I imagine they go after Kelly or someone who is more proven at the P5 level.

If we win out including the bowl maybe Dino gets a call.

To each his own, but to me...living in Florida, Tennessee, or Texas or something and coaching at one of those weird, psycho schools seems like some form of hell. No thanks.
