I think they probably would've completed a pass (60% say). They might not have and they would've lost.

Punting there maximizes the amount of time where you have any chance. Going for it increases your chance of winning. I don't care about the former.

It's too bad because Marrone has made better decisions aside from that the last few weeks

you can say it's just 1% difference but if you compare the choices to each other, going for it might've twice as good. maybe it's just a rounding difference (1.49% to 1.51%)

It's not that far fetched. A head coach is going to take in to account media scrutiny, job security, etc. and make the safest decision from those perspectives. The gamer would only try to solve the problem immediately in front of them, and those decisions might look different because of that.
