Where is Taurean...?

Perhaps he and Marek just decided to trade places.

Marek has a promising career ahead of him here, and Taurean has a promising career with a second-tier team in Slovakia.

Yes! Solved! An exchange-program.

This whole deal has to make JB nostalgic for Elvir Ovcina and his trips to Georgia.

We better hope Thompson shows up. We need him badly this year. Not sure what mom is thinking but if he were to transfer and leave what does that really do for his long term prospects?

At this point what else would he do? As others have mentioned this is much like his recruitment. I'll worry about it when its confirmed he's a no show and won't be playing this year. Even then what are you going to do? More minutes for Sidibe and you hope Chukwu is a different player.

Who will we find first? Waldo, Big Foot, Taurean...

Damn it, where is he?

Anyway this ends it looks awful for Thompson. He's basically holding the program hostage. If he made a decision to leave in the spring at least we could have used his scholarship to fill the roster. If he leaves now bye bye to your basketball career.

Dino would find a Juco Power forward at the last minute; just sayin'...

I don't think TT is doing that at all. If he had his own way he'd probably already be on campus.

Someone should tell Taurean the story of Big Foot. Big Foot's real name was Bill Sasquatch, a promising big man from the University of Northern Idaho. As a freshman in 1966 he showed incredible offensive promise on the freshman squad, but he showed little interest in the defensive end. This drew the ire of the head coach. Bill's thin albeit hairy skin and the meddling of his mom, caused him to make an ill advised decision to leave the program. This move labeled him a problem child to other coaches and he couldn't find a new home to develop his skills and take full advantage of his talent. He retreated to the mountains in frustration and has rarely been seen since. Taurean, don't make the same mistake.

Eh it's the same thing. At some point the kid needs to group up IMO.

I hear you, that's true and easy to say. Of course we all have Mom's, they want what they want, know whats best for everyone else and seemingly put on blinders to everything else while trying to accomplish it. It can be hard to get away from growing up with a parent who was very controlling your whole childhood. Yes its as simple as saying I'm headed off to SU for season 2 but that can be a very difficult thing to do as a young person.

Meddling parents <SMFH>. A friend's son was 6'-6" in junior high and still growing. Could dunk two-handed behind his head. Chased by several HS coaches in the city. Some colleges even contacted his dad, who knew nothing about basketball - let me repeat: nothing - but who decided he had to be involved. The kid grew to be 6'-8" in grade 10. Very good physical skills, coordination, strength, etc, but by then had been made into a drama queen by his dad and moved between 2 or 3 schools. Everywhere he went it was a soap opera. For example, Dad went with the team on an OOT tournament, got his own hotel room for him and the kid so the seniors couldn't shave the sophomore's head (apparently it was a "tradition"). Never saw an entry pass, cuz teammates didn't like him (didn't like his dad, actually). never learned any elevated skills (ie, footwork), just rebounded and dunked put-backs. His teams never won anything. Now he's just another tall guy who plays in the local rec leagues.

Maybe he went to get some plastic shoes
Maybe he went to get some funny sunglasses
Well, maybe he went to get an Air Force parka
Maybe he went to get a Vespa scooter
Maybe he went to get a British flag
Maybe he went to go Mod Ska dancing
Well, maybe he went to get a mohawk
And maybe he went to get some gnarly thrash boots
Maybe he went to go ride his skateboard
Maybe he went to see the Circle Jerks
