Wildhack Presser 10 AM Monday

I know it's not going to happen, but I feel like ADJW needs to tell Dino open up practices a bit more, and engage more with the fanbase this offseason. Can't have radio silence from here until September, if they expect to raise ticket prices and sell a decent amount of season tickets.

I can hear it now, gotta keep the new offense under wraps. Don't want to tip our hands.

Yea I didn’t really take what John said as meaning white would or could be our head coach. He was just praising how good he was because the warrior was about white. It was the media that tried to draw the bridge from Babers.
Maybe, but clearly JW wasn't going to say it explicitly even if he feels White would be a likely choice.

just mentioned delays in getting calls from the box to the field. said it was inefficient and needs to be better. He harped on it a bit and clearly not happy about it.

Tomcat also mentioned it today. It was a huge issue all season and led to a bunch of screwups. burned timeouts, delay of games, the 2 pt conversion etc.
Maybe they used the same vendor that setup the Dome audio.

Wut?
Do they make the decision to fire all the heads of departments, do they close down businesses that aren't profitable, no, that comes thru the CEO. They carry out his directives.

I fear that retaining Babers will be a very costly decision... much more so than his buyout would have been. Let's be clear: SU is waving the white flag in terms of even attempting to be competitive. This is window dressing, lipstick on a pig, etc. The lack of commitment is just as obvious to recruits, hs coaches, and our competitors as it is to our diehards.

Hopefully they get a few Mitch Browning mercenary types that are okay with living out of a hotel for a year and succeed in making the team competitive and prepping some of our kids for the next level.

Wildhack said he has confidence that SU's passing game can get better after a full offseason of Garrett Shrader working with WRs. On the OC vacancy: Dino's call, but "we've talked about someone who's worked with and developed quarterbacks."
Jordan Palmer

You are so wrong on this it's not even funny. As a Director at a Fortune 250 company, I can tell you unequivocally you are absolutely wrong.
Those people are then target for bigger jobs.

there are good assistants out there getting canned because their HC got canned, hopefully DB can do just as you say. let's hope for Browning types vs Joe Adam types

Next year’s schedule is murderer’s row. You don’t want to bring in a brand new staff and start things off with a 2-10 season. If we can get to 6 wins next year Dino should get extended, if we don’t, then he’s going to get canned anyway.
Murderer's row? That's a bit dramatic. We play in the ACC, not the SEC

That's interesting, particularly as Dino brought him back after Gilbert previously ditched him for Tulsa.
I thought the general impression of Gilbert in the college football world is that he is kind of a jerk? so, I guess Dino thought he could handle working with the jerk again

Whites obviously the next coach which I agree with. Dino gets off to a hot start or we make a move.

I like the decisions on the rest of the staff it’s what I would do.

I think this decision speaks more about the Chancellor than JW. I think the school made the investment in Dino and probably went above and beyond they ever thought they would go. I suspect JW's hands were tied to some extent.

He keeps asking for money from boosters for recruiting, etc. They need money to maximize the investment they already stretched on. Just the reality of what i'm hearing

Is there a way to short this investment? It would seemingly be a homerun, as it appears retaining Dino solidifies the inevitable in regards to SUAD/football's short term equity. ;):)

This is kind of coming out now and I’m just wondering where it came from ( not doubting you )

Our first game next year is against an ACC opponent right? Will be a good first test for us

The only thing that bothered me in the press conference was the figurative setting-up of a GoFundMe page to help in recruiting. That had the whiff of desperation to me...
I agree - the other stuff is what I thought it would be all along, rationalizing why Dino is being kept. JW did his usual schtick to keep the fans at bay and engaged, and added a plea for money because we all know that is the only reason we stink and the fans haven't done enough to support this program (the last part should be in sarcasm font).

I stand by my belief that the school is not committed to being good in football. Just good enough to keep the ACC checks coming.
