I think Dordevic had a solid debut. 2 goals including the late game tying one (before the Chrome went on to win). He did also have an assist. He's listed with 0 turnovers but if I recall correctly he had at least 1 mishandled pass and may have dodged into trouble once. I thought he did a relatively good job passing in the game - while I agree it's a skill that can definitely be improved, I feel like the ball didn't die in his stick as much as it has in the past. His shooting percentage was rough, but I expect that to improve over the season. The Whips offense as a whole struggled with ball movement at times, which should be helped as Williams and Smith return, but I don't think Dordevic was the cause of any stagnancy. He'll get more comfortable and precise as the season goes.
I agree about Curry - I think he needs a lot more runs. He had 1 goal (off an invert) with limited touches. His speed adds a different element to the Atlas midfield that I think they really need to capitalize on. With Dennis having an off day, and Costabile forced into extra defensive shifts due to Logan's injury, I was genuinely surprised he didn't get more time on O. He looked good when he was out there. O'Rourke is a good attackman, but he had a pretty miserable game from the midfield.
Dearth had a pretty good game as well, especially in the first half. It looked like his legs got tired in the 2nd as he had to pick up more shifts due to Logan's injury. He almost had a highlight reel goal bulldozing a Redwoods player (maybe Montgomery? I don't remember) on his way to goal. But the impact tripped him up. Got beat once or twice in the second, but at least one of those times was a miscommunication with Richard that seemed (to my untrained eye) like Richard's fault. I think he, in particular, struggled for the Bulls.
Voight had a goal but certainly did not do enough to impress. A few mistakes, and he is a player that benefits from good ball movement, which the Chaos reserves did not really have. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit the waiver wire when the majority of the offense joins the team after the NLL final.
I could go on and on about Rehfuss. I think he should be on the field. I think his skillset is exactly what the Cannons need out of the box. 9 of their 13 goals were assisted, but only Nolting had multiple assists. I will slightly disagree in that I think Nolting had a pretty good game ( I think 1g 4a?) at attack. Rehfuss needs to be the quarterback from up top, and he does need to show he can beat a PLL pole. The Cannons were bad all over the offensive side of the field last year, and he again had many good feeds that went in unburied. But he did struggle when he was consistently poled. I think he should be on the field, but I do have a feeling that, with the other personnel on this offense, he's going to need to show that he can be a dodging threat as well. Now, if he were traded to a team that was better off-ball . . .
