shows how much early in buys you.

You take Mizzu, with who they have beat, and they have been in all yr

But if you start them at 60 they never get in.

Flip it and start SU at 10.

they win a couple so 8-10 by week3. Blow up vs Stan and fall to like 16

Beat HC then go on the road and beat ranked UNLV and then road NC st so around 12-13

lose to pitt who is undefeated and probably fall to like 18-19

Beat VT then lose to BC and go to like 23..

We beat Cal/Uconn and are back to 17-18

Miami win or lose we probably never fall out.

Now take Ala and start them at 60
3-0 beat GA and they probably get in at about 18-20
lose to Vandy and fall out beat USC and back in about 23-24
lose to Tenn and fall out

beat Mizz 23-37 then beat LSU and probably back in around 15th at 8-2

Ok, so this is why, in that other thread, I was talking about how they should rank within cohorts.

Take the undefeated teams and rank those first. They get the top spots. Then take the 1 loss teams and rank them. They automatically fall behind the unbeatens. Then the 2 loss teams and rank them. Until you get to 25.

It would remove the preseason perception bias. You week 2 Top 25 is all undefeated teams. This ranking prioritizes game results over subjective perceptions of "how good" teams are relative to each other.

Current Sagarin. Our best OOC is #50. Our SOS thus far is 57th, so it has been rising. That said, we only play one team in the current Top 30 and only two in the Top 40. Half of our schedule is between 43rd and 71st, a very strong middle. The bottom is not bad either with only one team outside 105th.

We are now 9th in the ACC, so right in the middle. Getting top half is definitely possible. Getting ahead of the Top FCS seems would require us to win out, and even that might not be enough. Being 5th in the ACC (25% teams above and 75% below) seems out of reach. Getting 2nd in the Northeast would likely require winning out. We need to get #1 in NY State, that could be tight. A convincing W vs UConn and a close loss to Miami could get us Top 50.

How wasn't Louisville punished more for their loss?

Them at 29th seems high

Surprised that we got so many votes. I was thinking if we look good vs UConn and soem teams lost we could get into the 25-30 range in the polls. We are already there.

Every time we get to this spot we fall on our face

I'd like to get over the hump against UConn and get ranked in Frans first year

I'd like to see it, too, but I think it's gonna take more than UConn. Speculate on Miami? No way, but damn... I like Fran - a lot.

Mora is a very good coach. UConn will be ready. They will be hungry to knock off a P4 team and a northern rival from the Big East days. Fran will have us ready also, I am confident. A tremendous amount at stake for us.

How long did this post take you? :)

And Rice is TURRIBLE.

Went the Army v Rice game at Michie.
Army pretty much had their way with Rice, who pretty much have ONE really good, do it all player on O.

UConn struggling to beat them, means that UConn is pretty meh.

Really Duke and Buffalo were their two best games. And they trailed by 17 in the first half vs Duke.

Always liked Ann Rice, especially the vampire series. ;)

Agreed. I think we would need a win though like 38 to 14/45 to 17 to make a jump into the polls.
