Officiating Crew

And inconsistently bad. They'd call one thing at one end then not call it on the other. Sometimes I wonder if these refs are like "screw it tonight, im just gonna get my face on TV as much as I can"

Honestly it looked like over the back on the rebound right before. Benny was in position and he went over his back.
Definitely shoved him in the back but not surprising or outrageous given refs usually err on the side of extending the game in that spot. To call a bogus foul immediately after that though was just too much.

and the phantom call with 0.9 left in regulation when the game was over.
Refs were whistle-happy.

But I understand why they called that foul that let IU tie the game.
When Jackson-Davis hit the bottom of the rim with the shot on a play like that you think there had to be a foul.
But it didn't look like any foul on the replay.

And by the way...I think he missed 3 consecutive free throws in the OT's.
So a little thank you there.

The biggest thing for me was that one jump ball.

Jimmy was on the floor in one of the Atlantis games (memory sucks) and grabs possession comfortably while calling for Time Out before a guy gets down and grabs at the ball and they called a tie up.

The Indiana dude tonight has "possession" for a fraction of a second at most and they grant the TO.

I don't know why loose ball situations/fouls tee me off so much but they do.

I was shocked that they actually called a loose ball foul on the Indiana guy when he tackled Swider in the first OT (?) and the ball went out of bounds with Joe diving to save it, but it was the right call.

I still can’t get over the whistle on Buddy on the corner three. He wasn’t even close to his arm.

We still pissed the a 7 point lead away after that but their momentum is non-existent and the game is probably over if the ref doesn’t blow his whistle for fun.

Actually, a lot of their terrible calls were really close and difficult to call.

They were whistle happy until they weren't. JG and BB probably picked up a lot of bruises in OT.

Lol at any Indiana fan who complains about the girard call at the end thinking refs should swallow their whistles.
Joe was crushed. I wish our DBs hit like that.

I read a little bit on the Indiana board. Most were similar to us, they felt the officiating was bad for both sides. The difference is, they think that most of the bad calls benefited Syracuse. I guess that is natural for any fanbase.

Too many phantom whistles for nothing and too many make up calls. That crew needs to be put to pasture.
I thought the worst call of the night came in the first half, on Symir's drive and made bucket. A Jeffrey Anderson call. I usually peg him as a solid to strong ref, but last night, wow, he wholly missed about 7-8 calls (a few for each side). The guy had a terrible night.

Watching live I thought Bennie got overpowered. The B10 network was on at the gym this morning and showed highlights. When I watched it again, Bennie actually did a decent job boxing out but it was clearly over the back. Really lousy officiating last night. Had we lost, that call, the phantom call against Buddy, etc would be all we talked about today.
