Guess you have to chalk it up to Wagner + what else? It wasn't labor day weekend, wasnt the kick time, no leaves on the ground, 330 kick is the most popular...is it marketing? General trend in CFB?

I'm confused what your question is. Were you physically at the game? 29K sounds pretty good against Wagner. We've had that against name brand opponents, or not too far from it. I've been to games where it looked like less than 25K and bowl game on the line.

It’s because Shafer got fired

Is that the answer you were looking for?

No, it wasn't, dont need an answer with attitude. BC had 40k for holy cross...in a prp town that doesnt care about CFB. 29k is pathetic.

Wonder what the difference between Boston and Syracuse is

Not buying the population difference .all of CFB has an inverse relationship regarding population and attendance...across the land.

Historic rivalry with a school a half hour away being played for the first time in 32 years. Totally the same.

Oh give me a break, same rivalry rekindled with us and colgate? Yer reachin.

You seen to have such insight spit it out genius

I dont have the answers. All i know is , there weren't the usual excuses and distractions present that resulted in the worst home opener attendance in 35 years including the grob years.

Umm... Holy Cross traveled.. Was pretty loud when they scored. For a team like CMU they pulled 27K..(we pulled 33K)

2017 BC Attendance
Wake Forest H 38,082
Notre Dame H 44,500
Central Michigan H 27,036
Virginia Tech H 32,057
Florida State H 40,629
NC State H 33,242

BC has a Heisman hopeful, coming off a very good season and is looking at a possible 10 win year.
Most people in Boston don't know that. They're not allowed to talk about College football on sports radio, because people will turn it off. (even when they've been ranked) With 6 million people in the metro region? They're lucky to average 35K, because it's a pro town. Holy Cross traveled.

Lots of local kids on both teams. I know kids on both teams. Only reason I watched. I thought about going, and many did, because of home town kids, and proximity.

Ish, apologies, but your BC example is a poor one. If you want to discuss the folly of having an FCS team as a home opener? Then I'm with you.

Thought crowd was decent for Wagner...

FSU will be 40-ish.

Holy cross fans showed up today for the game. It was somewhat of a Yale/Harvard atmosphere w the catholic schools staging a pre game reunion in the tailgate. Weather was 10 out of 10 too.

Will say the food incentive worked. Far more people in their seats by the time the team runs on field. In prior years, was embarrassing to see about 5k in seats for team taking field.
My stand ran out of dome dogs before kickoff. They were so unorganized.
