Lets play a series with UConn

Right. Of course Ollie just signed an incredible class and we are in the mix with tons of top players for 2015.

Other than being completely factually wrong, you make some interesting points.

Football is going to be tough. Fact is that on-the-field, we are in a tougher conference. It may hurt to hear, but Houston, UCF, ECU all field better teams than SU or Pitt.

Unlike SU, we do have a desperate feeling when it comes to football. I imagine our next coach will be paid double your current coach and have a track record twice as impressive. We are looking at the model of Cincy or UofL, not the SU or Rutgers model when it comes to coaches.

Real old guy or total up and comer? Two completely different models. Good grief desperation smells bad.

Butler isn't THAT bad. Only have one less National Championship appearance than you guys. Came pretty darn close to pulling off a miracle run like Cuse in 2003.

And after that college hoops changed the rules to stop butcher ball.

Georgia Tech was tough!

Lets be honest here. I enjoy the back and forth. And it works because both fanbases have points to be made.

Both have been successful. Syracuse has been more successful the last 5 years, but UConn has that one national title we would all trade it for. Syracuse has more stability for the future, but UConn still sees some success today. UConn has reached the peak more often, but enjoyed success as a program over a shorter time frame. We still have a historic coach they have a coach. They have had some douchebags play for them that we can poke, and they can do the same.

It is a bit of a shame that 10 years from now UConn will be such an irrelevant basketball program that no one from Syracuse will care anymore.

I miss the days when UCONN was about to join BE football and prevalent wisdom on here was that it would be a decade before we would even be within 3 TD's of you guys.

Fact is the SU board has a pretty bad record when it comes to predicting how UCONN will do.

PS: Did you see Newsome went for 492 yards and 7 TD's last night in the state quarter finals. How do you guys think he'll be for UCONN?

After 10 year we beat the bejesus outta you in our last game and now are in the ACC and you're in the ACK...so no, you didn't catch up to us in 10 years.

What I meant is that SU and RU both promoted internally and pay them close to the low end of the scale.

Cincy and UofL went national, spent money and got the best coaches they could.

UCONN is looking nationally and will pay its next coach more than Shafer and Flood combined.

Doesn't mean he will do any better but it does indicate that UCONN is being more aggressive then they schools with the promised pay days.

The lack of intellectual competency of Uconn posters is scary. Their delusion is now reaching new heights as they derive new ways to try to advocate their own program as greater than ours. It is a sad state and while they may hold on dearly to their 3 championships and larger nba population for as long as they carry weight, the reality is the future is far from bright. Their football program is reeling and money is not the ultimate solution. Their hoops program is living off the last of Calhoun's recruits this year. Come next year and beyond and that inflated ego will turn to frustration.

Now Carmelo is not a good player either in their eyes because somehow his team's struggles now eliminate how good he was here and the fact he is still an all star caliber player. I raise my glass to those po bastads and wish them nothing but good as they watch their programs circle the drain.

from what I can tell the biggest difference between the fan bases is that you are still allowed to post here, whereas any and all Syracuse fans have been banned from the boneyard. live in your bubble, it's better that way. convince yourself that napier is great. good luck with it.

Oh and according to fishy we are so easy to play... lol. Nothing like a group who loves getting off to themselves.

When you google "UConn Boneyard", the first hit is Boneyard Woman College Basketball Forum.

Sounds about right.

And the 3rd hit is ECU's Boneyard Banter message board. Now you might not necessarily be a mid major when you share the same message board name as ECU. But you're definitely a mid major when you're in the same conference as ECU (and Tulane, Tulsa, Houston, SMU and Temple).

First, you haven't hired anyone yet. No one will be banging the door to get on that sinking ship. You will have to pay big to get a somewhat decent hire. And by the way, we have had two coaches leave to go to the NFL in the last 25 years. Your guys leave to go to East Carolina and Maryland.

Here is the real truth to hanging on to the 3vs1 they love to use to counter any argument.

The writing is on the wall. Someday it will be 3 vs. 2.. then 3 vs
3... then 3 to 4... and so one and so forth. As we build momentum in college basketballs PREMIER conference, they will be come stagnant in their tiny little pond.

So you see, they hold on so dearly to 3 to 1. Because it is, at this exact moment, all they will ever have. Their only hope for us to not some day eclipse that number, is for the world to end. So UConn, here's to hoping yellowstone erupts ending all life on this continent.

P.S. everyone hates you... and no one wants you.

Perhaps, but I'd feel more comfortable saying this once we have our 2nd. It's why we hate Keith Smart so, but that game was loss at the FT line late before Smart's winning jumper.

Cheers,
Neil

They can talk about 3 to 1 all they want. Here is the only difference:

Georgia Tech/Butler vs. Indiana/Kentucky

Thats all it boils down too. If it makes them feel better then let them roll with it.

I've thought about smoking crack once, doesn't mean I should do it though.

that championship game against Butler was the biggest JOKE of a NC I have ever seen!! I was so pissed for like two weeks that the uconnVICTS got a NC with the easiest road to a NC that I have ever seen.

That's why I am certain we'll win more. And who knows what would have happened with a healthy Arinze or a qualified Fab Melo. I believe that in time we will surpass Uconns 3. And they will forever be stuck. With their glory days in hindsight.

Yes, I too believe we will win our 2nd sometime this decade. As for UConn, if there ever will be another non-P5 team to win a men's bb NC, they have the best shot.

I still have no interest in playing them OOC, but I don't underestimate what they have accomplished in many sports across the board.

Cheers,
Neil

I must teach you the ways of a hater.

Come back in 5 years and let us know how 'hurtin' you are.

In five years we will still be closer to our last championship than exCUSE is right now. Face it, it is your program, university and city facing the cliff. UConn will be just fine.
