Right. Of course Ollie just signed an incredible class and we are in the mix with tons of top players for 2015.
Other than being completely factually wrong, you make some interesting points.
Football is going to be tough. Fact is that on-the-field, we are in a tougher conference. It may hurt to hear, but Houston, UCF, ECU all field better teams than SU or Pitt.
Unlike SU, we do have a desperate feeling when it comes to football. I imagine our next coach will be paid double your current coach and have a track record twice as impressive. We are looking at the model of Cincy or UofL, not the SU or Rutgers model when it comes to coaches.
Butler isn't THAT bad. Only have one less National Championship appearance than you guys. Came pretty darn close to pulling off a miracle run like Cuse in 2003.
I miss the days when UCONN was about to join BE football and prevalent wisdom on here was that it would be a decade before we would even be within 3 TD's of you guys.
Fact is the SU board has a pretty bad record when it comes to predicting how UCONN will do.
PS: Did you see Newsome went for 492 yards and 7 TD's last night in the state quarter finals. How do you guys think he'll be for UCONN?
Real old guy or total up and comer? Two completely different models. Good grief desperation smells bad.
from what I can tell the biggest difference between the fan bases is that you are still allowed to post here, whereas any and all Syracuse fans have been banned from the boneyard. live in your bubble, it's better that way. convince yourself that napier is great. good luck with it.What I meant is that SU and RU both promoted internally and pay them close to the low end of the scale.
Cincy and UofL went national, spent money and got the best coaches they could.
UCONN is looking nationally and will pay its next coach more than Shafer and Flood combined.
Doesn't mean he will do any better but it does indicate that UCONN is being more aggressive then they schools with the promised pay days.

Sounds about right.
First, you haven't hired anyone yet. No one will be banging the door to get on that sinking ship. You will have to pay big to get a somewhat decent hire. And by the way, we have had two coaches leave to go to the NFL in the last 25 years. Your guys leave to go to East Carolina and Maryland. What I meant is that SU and RU both promoted internally and pay them close to the low end of the scale.

Here is the real truth to hanging on to the 3vs1 they love to use to counter any argument.
The writing is on the wall. Someday it will be 3 vs. 2.. then 3 vs
3... then 3 to 4... and so one and so forth. As we build momentum in college basketballs PREMIER conference, they will be come stagnant in their tiny little pond.
So you see, they hold on so dearly to 3 to 1. Because it is, at this exact moment, all they will ever have. Their only hope for us to not some day eclipse that number, is for the world to end. So UConn, here's to hoping yellowstone erupts ending all life on this continent.
P.S. everyone hates you... and no one wants you.
That's why I am certain we'll win more. And who knows what would have happened with a healthy Arinze or a qualified Fab Melo. I believe that in time we will surpass Uconns 3. And they will forever be stuck. With their glory days in hindsight.Perhaps, but I'd feel more comfortable saying this once we have our 2nd. It's why we hate Keith Smart so, but that game was loss at the FT line late before Smart's winning jumper.
Cheers,
Neil

I must teach you the ways of a hater.Yes, I too believe we will win our 2nd sometime this decade. As for UConn, if there ever will be another non-P5 team to win a men's bb NC, they have the best shot.
I still have no interest in playing them OOC, but I don't underestimate what they have accomplished in many sports across the board.
Cheers,
Neil
Come back in 5 years and let us know how 'hurtin' you are.
