Somewhere in the archives, there are posts of me singing praises of both those guys, but I don't think realistically that Syracuse would pay them what they would command. Plus, Miller has some baggage and Shaka's on court record has had some ups and downs. However, if I was starting a program from the ground floor, Shaka might be at the top of my list.

Yeah, Shaka's team was Top 10 last year. There's was zero inclination he wanted to go back to a two sport school considering he just failed and left on his own accord at Texas.

If you haven't seen the video of Rick saying these things, you should. It makes it even worse. I'm not sure what the heck he was trying to accomplish by saying those things.

I love when a reporter asked him if he regrets his decision to come to St Johns. He quickly (and awkwardly) said oh no, I love St Johns, just not my team. Okay Rick, that makes it SOOO much better.

Calling out your team and saying they aren't tough is one thing. It's not personal. It's probably a ploy to get them to play more aggressively. But to call out individual players by name and call them slow and unathletic is just beyond bad. It's demeaning and hurtful.

Shaka never got past the first round of the NCAA tournament with Texas. Not once. Here is his 6 years at Texas 20-13, 11-22, 19-15, 21-16, 19-12, 19-8. Not exactly great, is it?

Agree 100%. There is zero motivation in saying something about someone they can't change. Think about it, your coach says...

- This is the least enjoyable experience coaching I have ever had

- I think they're unathletic and that can't change.

Definitely struggled there but VCU and Marquette success are tough to dismiss.

And he brought a couple of players with him from Iona. I’m not sure why he showed Posh Alexander the door. He was a very good defender and is doing well at Butler this season.

There is no doubt that Pitino is one of the great coaches in the game and one of the great all time coaches. His team responded to him and his team constantly plays hard. He’s going to be a pain in the portal and on the recruiting trail. I would rather play them annually than Georgetown or play them both

slick rick was also hired away from college to coach NBA. JB not so much.
