Happened to head over there to see there thoughts on the USF game and caught this gem http://the-boneyard.com/threads/cuse-schedule.9892/ Best post is from the guy who thinks Alex Oriakhi and something called Shabazz Napier have a better chance at NBA success then any of our players. :rolling:

Not only that but going through a couple pages of posts theres at least a post a day about Syracuse and most of them in the same nature ie We are jealous of Uconn, cant win deep into the tourney, will flame out in March again etc etc etc. Its like the Rutgers fball board over there regarding us and I am not sure why. I dont know many Cuse fans that want to trade places with Uconn and despite the better success recently with the tourney last time I checked Uconn wasnt some traditional powerhouse with decades of success. And before some Uconn troll posts on this yes I realize your the defending national champs congrats and yes we do have an issue with JB getting past the sweet 16 we are all aware of it.

Is there some other underground SU board that talks about Uconn all the time? Am I missing something here? We dont even talk about Uconn that much around here and certainly we dont have a lot of posters bashing them. Freeking weird.

I think most boards think there players have better prospects for pro careers than they really do. See, this forum any time people talk about how many NBA players we have on it.

Syracuse is a big rival of UConn, and we look like the top dog in the conerence this year. It's only natural.

Also, I think Napier is a really good player. His numbers are outstanding.

The scoreboard will settle the debates... For better or worse. Making it past the sweet 16 will help silence the critics both here in cuse and around the country. JB and the team really need to make it happen this year or else we deserve to be ridiculed by opposing fans.

. I dont know many Cuse fans that want to trade places with Uconn .

I'm not "jealous" of them, but yes, I'd like to have 3 Nat Championships. So go ahead and count me as #1.

Also, for the record, 14 of those yard posts are by SouthTampaBill who many would like to banish to this board for his continued need to start threads on the orange.

This person sounds interesting - I think I'll have head over to witness the insanity.

I just did an advanced search (really cool feature of these new forums) on both the yard and this forum.

Since december 15th, this board has 98 hits for UConn, the boneyard has 84 for Syracuse. I'd call the obsession mutual, as evidenced by your creation of this thread, and my reply to it ;)

I'm going to miss the rivalry with UConn the most. The mutual "obsession" demonstrates the extent of the rivalry.

Calhoun 3 Boeheim 1

Thats pretty much the beginning and end of any UCONN/SU hoops discussion.
and the numbers tilt JC's way the further down you drill.

Nobody is a bigger fan of JB than I, but you just cannot honestly compare the two and not realize Calhoun has gained a major edge. The media will always fawn over Coach K, but Calhoun has been the most accomplished coach in the nation for the last 15-6 years; certainly the best tournament coach in that time period.

Given all that, in his post game comments after SU beat UConn last season, JC said (paraphrasing) "we in the business don't care much about such things, but I happen to think that he (Boeheim) is the best coach in the nation." I think that is very high praise, considering the source.

i have seen JC say things like that before. I think the difference in the two is that when both have really great teams, JC does better. when both have good teams, JB does better. Can't go wrong with either.

I have nothing against Calhoun or the Uconn program overall obviously they have been very successful no doubts about it.

They have more and better highs, but their worst teams are bad. Our worst teams aren't very good. Their 2010 team was atrocious and not even on the NIT bubble.

Still didn't turn out bad for them.

Calhoun is the best coach in college basketball history. JB is top 10. Nothing wrong with that and nothing for us, as Syracuse fans, to be ashamed of.

I'd like to point out that SouthTampaBill is 6'6", 250 lbs. and willing to fight any of you nerds.

The 2010 team was in the NIT, won a game against Northeastern and then lost a pitiful, typical game for that season @ VTech

I believe he said that after the Uconn Louisville overtime game. The following game was against Syracuse. I believe a reporter asked him about Pitino and he said something about JB and being the best coach in the country.

Andre Drummond would wipe the floor with him. And than shatter a backboard.

Did you search for Sarabuse or Saralosers or Sarahcuse?

Me too, I would have to think that the Jim's would find a way to have a standing home and home.

I think a yearly Nov/Dec game at MSG where each school gets to sell half the tickets would be awesome. I can't imagine Cablevision would have an issue with that.

Am I thinking the 07 team then?

Why would he fight nerds? Who suggested fighting?
tampa suggested fighting when he told someone that they wouldn't say what they said about him to his face.
