Uconn to the B12 NOT looking likely

Sooner or later we are going to reach the point at which the entire system will implode. It gets more unsustainable with each court ruling in a suit filed by a disgruntled player and coach's salary hike. I can't say that I will be sorry when it does implode.
With all the money being thrown around, and no one in charge, the SEC, and BIG are going to eventually be sorry for trying to eliminate everyone else.
It's just a matter of time until someone with a lot of money pays to fix a game.
Unlike professional sports where they are being paid millions to play and don't want to hurt their career, you have a lot of young people who could be tempted.

All the college b-ball point shaving scandals were as a direct result of what you describe. Go back to the Black Sox scandal as an example. Comiskey seriously underpaid his players and that left them wide open to taking Arnold Rothstein's bribes. It's very difficult to imagine a US pro doing it today.

But with all the legalized betting today, and NIL it would be a lot easier to fix games today. You don't need the stars in football because of how many players are on the field on every play.

Agreed - in the NBA, we saw in real time how betting being legalized (and thus closely monitored) makes it harder to fix games. I'm concerned about gambling addiction as it is way to accessible in my opinion, but I don't think there is going to be more corruption.

Back2Back NC and still no takers.
They really need to improve that football product. Almost feel sorry for the Mutts... almost.
Or get out of football altogether. If they're not going to have success, they may as well focus resources on basketball - or maybe even other sports.

Once they close the door on fb, they're officially a mid major. They become Gonzaga w/ great basketball & non-existent football.
Don't know if they're at that point yet- but it looks bad.

Meanwhile if Creighton and Marquette ever drop off like Nova has- they just have the American all over again just without football. The Johnnies will be a flash in the pan with slick Rick then back to being an A10 caliber team, GTown maybe gets a little better but that isn’t saying much and then everyone else is meh.

I never saw this as the "likelihood" some had it painted. It just never made any sense for the B12 and won't make sense to any major conference once they realize how much work there is to do to bring football up to relevance and how little resources the university has to devote to that endeavor.

Hard to believe, 5 nattys in CBB, the 2 most recent and back-to-back and it gets squashed. I realize fb rules the roost but I never thought it was this much.

Can ACC just take WVU, Cincy, Houston, Utah, BYU, Colorado, Arizona, and Arizona State already?

Then the ACC can divide into three eight team divisions called Big West, Big East, and ACC

SMU, Houston, Utah, BYU, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Stanford (Edit) - 9

WVU, Louisville, Cincy, Syracuse, BC, Miami, Virginia Tech, Pitt, ND (not happening I know) - 8/9

Rest go to ACC:
Duke, Wake, Virginia, NC State, UNC, Ga Tech, Clemson, FSU - 8

UConn is a Big East team- period. Those teams seem to be doing fine facing and admitting their $ limitations regarding being competitive in football. Wonder how many more programs will end up in limbo as the major conferences add and conversely leave other programs behind without a conference? There may be more programs that reassess the viability or competition level of their football programs as UConn should be doing.

Did you kick Stanford out already?

They won't be happy trees.

Utah maybe if the rumors are true. The others are B12 schools with a GOR. Believe it doesn’t expire until 2030.
