It is very possible that we don't get much from this. However, one thing that I saw that I haven't seen talked about a lot is our pace. It was a pleasant surprise to see us speeding up again.

I'm not fully on board yet but one thing I will agree with is his ability to make hard changes. I've been around long enough to remember how P was unwilling to make changes on O with his coordinator and I think it sped up his departure.

Can't stand NC State but that team tends to have our number like Pitt so I would be pleasantly surprised if we beat them. Right now I don't see that happening.

We do need to solve the recruiting puzzle. Recruiting has been consistently mediocre with hidden gems here and there for a long time now. Every time we get a new coach we get excited and then the first narrative we throw out with recruiting always starts with "well we are late in this cycle"...

The coaches change, but the players we recruit remain the same. Wash, rinse, repeat. Syracuse is just not an attractive destination for recruits. Until that changes, all the throwing money at coaches won't matter.

To add to that just viewed there recruiting class for 2021 which ranks 12th nationally so far according to 247. Of their 16 committments, 14 come from the Carolinas. We have to come to reality that we do not have this in-state luxury.

I think this is what our reality is right now. We need to enjoy these "mediocre" times we are experiencing right now. History has shown, most teams go through down periods once hall of fame coaches leave.
