    SU -21.5 vs uconn

I would genuinely like to know the last time SU was a 20+ point road favorite

    Week 1 ACC/FBS Games for Sept 1-5

I have to think the narrative around Doeren and NC State would be a lot different if UNC and ECU went the other way

    The DeVito catharsis thread

My theory is that TD plays his best in the 2018 era SU jerseys, so Illinois was a natural fit

USC and UCLA to the Big Ten

Unequal revenue sharing would probably be a must in this scenario. SU gets a smaller piece than the big football schools, but a lot more than they would in a diminished ACC/successor league.

USC and UCLA to the Big Ten

This is a clear longshot but worth a try - invite Stanford and Cal along with Oregon and Washington and use those additions to lure ND. With the new scheduling model ND’s permanent opponents would be Pitt, BC, Stanford, who they have always played anyway, plus 5 more ACC games (like they are...

Bama / UGA Title Game Thread (this cool mods?)

And we beat Georgia with the current score of 19-18!

    Huge week for Syracuse basketball

Sounds like SU knew for awhile the GT game probably wasn’t happening and have had Cornell lined up as a contingency
  8. raf4488

Brown added for Dec 27 / ACCN

We have 7 days between our 2/12 and 2/19 games, so I wonder if we can reschedule Cornell for the middle of that week. They’ll probably be available since Ivy games are Friday/Saturday

    Wake-Pitt

Pitt and Wake playing for the second time ever. They’ve been in the same conference for 8 years! Abolish divisions

Georgia must not have played anyone who could pass

Absolutely inexplicable that Kirby doesn’t know who his best QB is. You have to have a really good QB to win a title in 2021 and Bennett has such a low ceiling
  11. raf4488

Who do you want as the new OC?

Yeah but…Lewis has a program on the cusp of a MAC championship that hasn’t won the league since 1972. Dino took over a successful Dave Clawson program
  12. raf4488

Who do you want as the new OC?

Zach Kittley at WKU is interesting. Not sure if he’d be interested and he’s reportedly a candidate at Auburn, but his offense at WKU is really outstanding

    LSU/OU HC jobs...

Kelly to LSU is insane. Obviously it has to be an incredible offer but I also wonder if Kelly thinks he’s reached his ceiling at ND and he wants to land consistent top 3 classes and win a title or two before he retires.

    Postgame Thoughts… Auburn

Remember when this was our biggest worry? Those were the days It's like JB took the criticism of the 2013 team personally. "You don't like this team because they can't shoot? Fine I'll go completely in the opposite direction and see how you guys enjoy that!"

Clawson Signs Long Term Deal With WF

Clawson might legitimately be one of the 10 or so best head coaches in the country. Good for Wake for extending him I think a lot of good coaches are realizing they'd rather stay put at a program they built and a place that appreciates them rather than go to a factory with unreasonable...

    Postgame Thoughts… Auburn

I think VCU is one of the best defensive teams in the country. The problem is we let them score 44 points in the second half and shoot 50% from three when they average around 50 points a game

Dino's Game 12 Press Conference for Pitt: 11 AM

Interesting quote about the passing game. Yeah the OL was a problem and our receivers struggle to get open, but a lot of this is on Schrader too. Teams have taken away the run/scramble game and he has to start beating teams with his arm at least occasionally

    Sharder post game interview

Since we know Dino will be back next year, Gilbert should not be. We should be able to get a lot more out of the personnel we have on offense

    Brent Axe finally says it

I don't like when coaching is conflated with game management. Yes, the game management has been terrible but that's like 5% of what a HC does. It is a very important part of being a HC of course. The kids are playing hard and are put in a position to make plays, and isn't that what good coaching...

    Or For F’s Sakes

I really want to see what this team can do next year with the vast majority of contributors returning, so if Dino accepts some help with this stuff let’s keep it going and see what happens in 2022
  27. raf4488

    My Take

Absolutely love what I’m seeing from Ellis, the future is bright in the trenches. Let’s keep it rolling with the Hawaiians up front
  28. raf4488

    Or For F’s Sakes

I’m not a huge Gilbert fan but I don’t get this. Yeah, not being able to consistently throw downfield is a problem but that’s not all on the OC. We played the Clemson defense tonight and put up 500+ yards against the ACC leaders last week
  29. raf4488

    Because Dino will be retained.

I’m in favor of keeping Dino despite him causing me to break my remote last night (can I invoice SUAD?). I think he’s gotten the hard/most important things right with this program - he’s built a talented team and has a solid coaching staff. That’s like 95% of what a head coach does. The gameday...

    Andre Szmyt

He kicked the laces and it wasn’t the first time that’s happened
  31. raf4488

    Or For F’s Sakes

Honestly, if we went for it on 4th and 1 the week after we missed a 44 yarder I would’ve understood even if we didn’t get it. I know AS kicked the laces and it isn’t all his fault, but there’s no reason to put that much faith in a shaky FG unit with the game on the line
  32. raf4488

    Or For F’s Sakes

No flicking way should we have kicked there on 4th and 1 when you have Tucker and a huge mobile QB. Kicking a 48 yarder is asking to lose. I’m really disappointed that Babers seemingly hasn’t learned anything from the past two games. 3 straight losses by a FG is inexcusable
  33. raf4488

    #44

I’m glad we have to go through this because Gross thought retiring the number was a great gimmick to slightly boost attendance for like, the South Florida game 15 years ago

Not having a ST coordinator - what do we get?

    Is Bob Casullo available?
  35. raf4488

The offense isn't broken after all

Yeah I like our offense and it’s getting better every game, I just wish we could throw the ball down the field for more chunk plays. That’s pretty much why we lost, Wake had a really good #1 receiver who could make touch catches down the field, and we didn’t.

    Most Heroic SU QB games

Also at Miami. And the game in Baton Rouge when he threw an interception on the first play and dragged the defender out of bounds by his face mask

    Wake Forest Game...

The accepting the penalty on 3rd down shouldn’t have happened, but also I don’t like the defensive call. We’re rushing 3, and why are we spying Hartman there? Who cares if he runs for 15 on 3rd and 23
  38. raf4488

Is Wake Forest part of the ACC protection program?

Louisville fans feels the refs contributed greatly to Wake’s win on Saturday. I just think they’re generally incompetent, but there’s another example of an “old” school getting favorable treatment at the expense of a new member

As crappy as that game ended….

I’m so conflicted on Dino right now because I like the team he has assembled but the in-game stuff drives me crazy
  40. raf4488

As crappy as that game ended….

Gilbert/Babers decided to play not to lose against Rutgers, Liberty, and FSU and have gone 1-2. If not for a huge play by the defense it would be 0-3. I just hope they realize this now and begin to play a bit more aggressive offensively. We will see. Shrader can throw it, just give him the...
  41. raf4488

As crappy as that game ended….

Yeah, more than the refs the call on 2nd and goal on our last possession was my biggest issue with this game. You have 2 downs to try to score a TD and Gilbert basically punted that 2nd down with the QB draw. We get 7 there and the no calls don’t matter

Wake May Be at the Top of the ACC

Literally one play away from winning the Atlantic and playing Pitt for the conference title! Also, we would’ve played in the Orange Bowl if it wasn’t in the CFP rotation that year

    Week 3: Non-ACC Games

Dan Mullen is calling an excellent game against this Bama defense
  47. raf4488

Wake May Be at the Top of the ACC

Wake is the smallest school in the P5. They were lucky to be included in the formation of the ACC, otherwise they’d be Richmond. I think SU’s enrollment is about 4-5x Wake’s. SU is private but I wouldn’t call it small; it’s not a liberal arts school
  48. raf4488

Week 3: ACC Games for Sept 17-18

The guy can coach some football. He may be the #2 coach in this league behind Dabo

Sean Lewis is the real deal. A brutal goal line fumble away from being within 2 at #5 Iowa

Girard needs to come off bench

Maybe I’m optimistic but I think JB will absolutely have KR running the point for the majority of the BC game. Joe was frequently playing off the ball tonight for good reason, and we all know who the off ball guard is going to be on Saturday. JB sees what we all see.
